Hi everyone!! I just found out I am pregnant! Only 4 weeks along!! I had my surgery on May 1st 2008!! I lost 130 lbs, but was still 30 lbs from goal. My weight loss has been nothing for 3 months. I didn't have health insurance for the last year and I haven't been able to have any of my blood levels checked. I got my insurance on Friday and will call the surgeons office on Monday. I was wondering if there is a huge change in Vitamins during pregnancy? I have low progesterone so I'm already doing the vaginal suppositories. This definatley was not a planned pregnancy (condom broke), but me and my husband are happy, just scared! I haven't been good about taking my vitamins, but since finding out I have been taking them everyday! What vitamins should I be taking?? I'm taking a prenatal OTC, B-12 sublingual daily, iron 65mg, and 1800mg of calcium. I would also love to hear some pregnancy sucess stories to ease my mind!!! I am so scared!!

Thanks, Lauren

Congrats on getting preggy. I'm sure others will chime in... I think taking extra prenatal vitamins---talk to the nutritionist that you had met before your surgery...he/she should tell you what's best for you.  Kelly

Congrats!!!  I really think you and baby will be just fine.  Most surgeons say wait 12-24 months to get pregnant,...and you are in the middle of that so all should be well in that realm.  You do need to get your labs done right away and add in folic acid.  Also, you need to add in a few more carbs.  I am sure you will get great answers from the ladies on this board as far as EXACTLY what you need to be doing!

Good Luck!

Thank you everyone!!! Its just the unknown and not having had the aftercare I should have had that is really worrying me. I did get to test me own blood for anemia during my clinical for college a week ago and that was fine!! I'm going to go through the old posts and read all the wonderful success stories!!

Thanks Again,
Lauren

I'm scared too!

(And also 30 pounds away from goal!)

I'm gonna get my 1 year labs drawn soon and I'll see if I have to work on any numbers then.

This is so HUGE!  I'm terrified!

Hey everyone, found out today that my HCG levels are dropping, so a miscarriage is inevitable! Thanks for the support!
