Not really feeling movement yet? Is that okay?

I told you guys that my hubby and I felt the baby move about a month ago, it was more like we felt where the baby was at then movement. Anyway, the more I read I hear everyone talk about fluttering and movement but mine is not moving around where I can feel it at all. When we did the last sonogram I saw the baby moving but couldn't feel it. We heard the heartbeat this week but I just wondered why the baby isn't moving around much.

I felt like flutter until about 20-21 weeks or so then I felt little kicks. So I would say thats normal. First time mom's usually don't feel those kicks and flutters like 2, 3, and etc moms do. If you are concerned I would talk to your Dr. But I would say it's normal just drink cold water and lay down you probably do feel something but unless you are paying attention you don't realize it's the baby. Soon enough you will be getting kicked in the ribs and kicked in the bladder so hard you pee!! HAHA!!

I didn't feel Matthew move really good until around 20 weeks.  The reason for this was because my placenta was in the front.  So it was like he was kicking a pillow...it took a while for him to get big enough to actually kick hard enough.  But once he did...he would move my whole belly.  Do you know if your placenta is in the front or back?

They didn't say anything to me about where the placenta is but I'll ask, I go back on Tuesday.

Chavon I am not really feeling the baby move either. I am 18 weeks today and have felt a few flutters and one poke that I think was the baby. I had an ultrasound on tuesday and the baby was looking good but sleeping away. I'd imagine that we get to feel our babies moving really soon!

Well you and I are close enough together that I feel abetter knowing I'm not really behind the times on that. You know how we first timers can be, worrying about every little thing...and then there's me who just worries for the sake of worrying...Thanks everyone for your input.

From what I was told by my OB this is normal. In fact I still havent felt flutters and I am 21 weeks. Instead though for the past week or 2 I have been feeling full on kicks...so apparently I never noticed the early ones. My explanation for why is my tummie makes a lot of noise and I have a lot of gurgling feelings on a regular basis after I eat so if baby got active after I ate or drank I could have easily mistaken it for gas or digestion. i can tell the kicks now because she is usually dancing on my bladder and uterus and once she gets to moving I have to pee within 15 minutes almost everytime lol. Don't worry about it, I am sure you will feel that lil one in the next few weeks.

I'm right with you on the stomach sounds. What is going on in there? It started after surgery and now its like a full blown orchestra in there so anyway, hopefully I just have to wait a few more weeks to feel the movements. I know I feel the baby in spots but when it moves I don't feel that happening. Thanks for the encouragement.

lol I agree. I don't know what is going on in there when it comes to digestion (which started after my surgery also) but it is loud and I am usually afraid everyone around me can hear it to . But with her I mostly only fell her when shes kicking my uterus and hardly ever feel her when shes anywhere else, I guess thats my sensitive spot lol.
