FRIDAY TTC POST (trying to conceive)
There is a really good book called "Taking Charge of your Fertility" that does a great job of explaining the whole cycle, signs to watch and pretty much everything fertility related.
In general (with many variations of course), the beginning of your cycle starts on the first day of your menstrual cycle - the first day of red blood flow. Ovulation occurs sometime 2ish weeks after that (with very large variations here). For example, I've seen my ovulation occur anywhere from 10-17 days after the start of my cycle, so it varies for everyone a great deal. The luteal phase (the end phase of your cycle) usually lasts between 10-16 days. At the end of that phase is when you would either start your next period or test and show up pregnant.
This is a very very general explanation and does not do the information given in the book I mentioned anywhere near the justice it deserves. There are several signs you should use to track your cycle if you are trying to actively get pregnant and they will help you learn your own cycle and when you are most fertile (which btw is the few days right before and including the day of ovulation). I would really recommend getting the book and reading up on it, I've found it very educational and it's helped me really understand my body, my cycle and hopefully will help get us pregnant soon.

Hi there...Update on me... After trying my "moonlight" therapy last month, I now ovulated this month on CD17 instead of the crazy 31 & 35 day it happened the last couple times. So after 3 cycles with lengths of 44-47, I think I'll be back on track.
That being said... Testing came back on DH and he's diagnosed with Klinefelter's syndrome- which in a nutshell, based on what I can tell- we can't have his baby without IVF, and even that is a longshot and not covered by my insurance, so I can't afford it
We meet with genetic dr on Dec 29th so will find out more then, but that's what it's looking like. I know sperm donor is an option too, but he's not wanting to think about that til after the appt. He's feeling very down right now. Trying to make it a good Christmas.
Good luck to everyone TTC and Congrats to the BFP's that I havent had the time to respond to.
