Some common terms:

TTC - trying to conceive
BFP - big fat positive (positive pregnancy test)
BFN - big fat negative (negative pregnancy test)
CD - the day of your menstrual cycle
O - ovulation
DPO - days past ovulation
LP - luteal phase (time from ovulation to period)
AF - aunt flow ( your period)
PG - pregnant/pregnancy
MC - misscarriage
RE - reproductive endocrinologist
OPK - ovulation prediction kit
CL - coverline ( for those taking their temps to confirm ovulation)
Met - metformin or glucophage ( a diabetes medication sometimes taken to help hormone levels and ovulation)
BD - baby dancing ( having timed intercourse)
DTD - doing the deed
IUI - inter uterine insemination
IVF - in vitro fertilization
PCOS - polycystic ovarian syndrome
POAS - pee on a stick (taking a pregnancy test)
2WW - two week wait...time from ovulation until you can test for pg

I had a BFN at the doctor's 2 days ago... I thought... cuz I was having cramps for 4 days and it wasn't the time of the month (4th of Dec was my period) and those 4 days was last Friday to Tues.. and the doctor says from the bloodwork -- just a low thyroid and doesn't know why as to the cramping...just said probably a virus.  I have fibromyalgia and I had not been hit hard since August until last weekend and normally when it hits me -- I'm either sick or something's changing with my body... sigh. Just wanted to stop in and wish LOTS of baby dust to all the ladies TTC!

Just tested a few hours ago...BFN after 2nd IUI. I will stop the progesterone today and let AF come.  I fly out of Jakarta tomorrow night, so depending on when AF gets here (probably Monday/Tuesday) and how the settling in to Sofia goes...we'll see if we try in January or wait until February.

Sorry Holly, I sure hope once you are settled in to your new routine and home that you get your BFP. I hope you get an early Christmas present.

We are in the 2ww.  I tested a few days ago (I know but I am a POAS addict) and it was N.  I'll test again next week or as soon as I get more tests.

Hi all!  I'm in the 2ww right now, but after wasting 3 digital tests last month (ouch) I'm really going to wait till I'm officially late this time.  Fertility friend changed my O date after my temp yesterday so I'm not sure we really have a good chance this time anyway. 

Do any of you have opinions about which tuning/override method is most accurate there?  I currently have it set to Advanced, but if I switch it to Fertility Awareness method it changes my O date back to what I think is more accurate based on all my signs.

I think I will go ahead and get an OPK next month and see if that helps any.  I know a lot of you use or have used them, any tips/tricks or recommendations on brands (if there are more than one)?

2ww? I'm new to this board and getting to know the abbreviations... but 2 week window? Ovulation.... what is exactly the first day of ovulation? when our periods start? or did it start a few days before?  ... I guess my ignorance is showing right now...and 14th day is  exactly what day?  first day of the period or the first day of when the period stops or what?  Fertility window is 6 days' .... I'm still reading but when I saw the comment POAS addict.... that sounds like me... I hate it when it's a  BFN everytime... .... fat negative.... where did we get that word in there ? FAT.... .... I wish I could be "fat" as in preggy ... but not fat as in FAT....  I better shut up.... my emotions are obviously so twirled into....this...sigh... biological clock's ticking....  Kelly

2ww= 2 week windows or 2 week wait.... there is a list of short hands attached to the post...ovulation occurs when the egg drops.. varies month by month but generally around the same time.. i suggest you get an opk kit..start testing around day 10...  they sell them at walgreens.. first day of full flow period is day 1 of your cycle... its a myth that you will ovulate on day 14 every month..

So, is it possible that my pcp tested me too soon and I could still be preggy? When are we supposed to do the POAS after "intercourse"? 6 weeks? 2 weeks? Please advise.  Kelly
