The Belly comment...

So by no means am I complaining about not being bigger, it's funny how when people inquire on why your not showing.   At work, two days in a row, I got the comment basically I was missing something.  I wore a cute shirt today, that said "This is my skinny T-shirt" and it had an outline of a baby....a girl commented...."Starting to wonder if there is one in there"...well I kinda just laughed about it...I just find it fastinating that I look at some people's pic and they are twice my size and then when I look in the mirror, there's not much to look at.  I told her, the less I gain, the less I have to lose, which is how I am looking at it.  ..

I also wonder if it has anything to do with my tummy tuck and my skins elasticity.  I have been feeling alot more bruised lately when I touch my stomach...I think it's the possible stretching going on....anyways...I am 22 weeks with 12.5 pounds gained and happy I have a heathly lil lady inside....probably a soccer player I am guessing....

Hope everyone is having a blessed day!

I have the same thing going on.  I have only gained 3 lbs since pregnancy but I am almost 27 weeks pregnant.  Just 1 1/2 weeks ago, I all the sudden got a major preggo belly when she moved up in my uterus.  I  felt like I really wasnt pregnant but of course I am but it just feels weird, not having a belly.  Now I do and withut much weight gain, why couldn't that happen during my 3 pre-surgery pregnancies??  LOL  Anyway, as long as you and your baby are doing well, that's all it matters.  Any one who makes a comment about your non-exsistent belly is just jealous!

At almost 32 weeks I still don't look pregnant.  If I wear a certain pair of pants and shirt I look about 5 months along.   I was the same way when I was pregnant with Hannah.   I've just started telling people I'm a freak of nature.    I'm sure it would bother me more if people were all the time commenting on how huge I had gotten.
Although towards the end of the pregnancy last time I got a lot of are you sure the baby is o.k and your WLS hasn't kept her from growing.   I had a harder time with them questioning the health of my baby than I did the size of my belly.  For the record Hannah was completely healthy and weighed 6 pounds and 11 ounces!

Your tummy tuck probably has something to do with why you aren't showing as much.  I've not had one, but I've heard others on here say that.

Great job on the weight gain!

I would guess the TT definitely affects how your pregnancy shows. I didn't show until the 3rd trimester, and was wearing my regular size pants until about 33 weeks. It was a strange feeling compared to my prior 2 preop pregnancies. My MIL was famous for saying, "are you sure you're really pregnant?". Then @ 33 wks, my belly seemed to become huge overnight and even my kids were amazed at how quickly it changed.

Enjoy every minute and take lots of photos so you can compare the weeks. It's a lot of fun to look back at them after the baby is born.

I think I'll be happy when my lower belly catches up with the upper belly. I never got a tummy tuck so there is lots and lots of room for this baby- compliments of  my skin. LOL

I am sure people are just thinking I am gaining my weight back and don't know I am pregnant. I used to worry about that and cared what they thought  but now I don't. They can kiss it!!!! (That's my hormones speaking right now.)

Congrats on the weight! I hope I can say the same thing when i am 22 weeks. I think that is great.

Happy holidays to you as well!

Hugs,

J

I must say, I'm just the opposite. I didn't have a TT but my weight loss in my belly was pretty good and I was just a bit off from having a nice flat belly. Well, now I look huge. At 19 weeks I have gained a total of 7 lbs so I haven't gained a whole lot of weight but I have grown a stomach. People keep saying I look like I'm having more than one or asking if I heard about the lady who had a 15 lb baby or something. I guess either way they will say what they say. No one has the ability to take my joy away!!!

At 30 weeks I've gained 30 pounds, but I still don't really look pregnant.  I guess it's my height.

...and NOTHING tastes as good as this feels!
