Ultrasound update...
So...she is most definitely STILL A GIRL! Yay! That was the first image that the tech saw, actually. She has stretched out in me from ABOVE MY BELLY BUTTON TO MY CERVIX. She is upside down facing my back...she was NOT cooperating with the tech looking at some of her organs. They tried to move her, but she wasn't having it...she liked her position. Apparently, I have an anterior placenta...not sure what that means, but that would explain why I feel her sometimes but mostly just squirming.
They are sending me to a maternal & fetal specialist...they have assured me OVER & OVER that they haven't seen anything wrong...its just they want better quality images. Wonder if it has to do with me being fluffy(plus sized) or if there is something they aren't telling me.???? They are trying to get me in with them before the holidays.
What do you guys think?

The maternal fetal specialists usually have much better u/s machines AND their techs are better at getting a view of the organs and stuff from strange angles if baby does not want to cooporate. I am sure they are just being careful, and you will be shocked at the quality of the u/s when you get there! Enjoy it and relax (I know, easier said then done!)
Don't worry. My big US was with a Maternal Fetal specialist. They have really good equipment and good sonographers.
Anterior placenta means it's in the front of your uterus. Posterior is the back. If you haven't been feeling lots of movement that's probably why. The important thing is for it to be high...not right next to or covering the cervix.
You get to see your little girl again soon. That's a good thing!

Well...we are only one day apart!!!! yay! i'm just hoping 'Bella is not like her daddy...and LATE. He was a week late. I was 2 1/2 wks early...I am always early for everything :) even now.
I am supposing everything is fine. Thats what they tell me. The placenta looked good, just anterior...from what I hear anyway.

I think that the baby probably just didn't get in the right positions for them to see everything. I am pretty sure they would tell you if there was a cause for concern. I don't think that your size has anything to do with what they can see cause with my daughter I was over 325 and they saw things fine, but she cooperated too. Maybe you'll get some awesome ultrasound pictures this way!
Okay...the appointment is for tomorrow at 3pm EST. I'll let ya know what they say...if they say anything. Do they say anything, or just do the u/s and send the results to the doc and have them talk to you?

I get all of my ultrasounds with maternal and fetal medicine. AT my first visit the tech did the US, the Dr watches from another room, he reviews everything then he met with us to discuss everything. At the subsequent appt he only comes in if there is a reason - Good or bad! He came in last time just to say all looked good. They are very thorough. My baby didn't want to cooperate for ANYTHING when we went yesterday. It was sound asleep and wouldn't give us any good views for the tech to measure. SHe told me that some days the baby just doesn't. SO I go back in 3 weeks and they'll do everything then. A friend of mine told me to have 1 hershey kiss 1/2 hour before the appt and another 1 right before I walk in - then sip on juice until they are ready to do the US - that should help to get the baby moving. I'll definately try it for my January appt.
Good luck tomorrow!
