I am not sure how small or large of a company you work for but be sure you know your rights under FMLA.  If you work for a compnay with 50 or more employees and have been employed for more than 12 consecutive months you are entiled to up to 12 weeks of leave, not that is not paid leave, but non the less they are required to hold your job for you for up to 12 weeks per year.

Thanks :) I've been here almost 7 years (will be by the time baby comes) but there are only 24 of us.

For the past few months i have worked 30-40 hours depending on how busy we have been. My employer only have 6 employees but we do have short term dis and long term. Im lucky in that aspect.

I hope that you figure something out that works best for everyone. I think the best thing to tell your boss is that sometimes you may need more time than other weeks for appts or u/s's. Either way you'll be fine!!!

They seem like they are pretty good to you!

With my son I worked up until I gave birth. I had a Monday-Friday full time job. Went to work on Friday and told everyone I wouldn't be in on Monday and sure enough... I had my son on Monday! LOL ON MY DUE DATE!!!! I got lucky I guess.

With this baby I plan on working until I go into labor but I work at the hospital I am giving birth in so it's very convienent if you know what i mean. I'll just walk right over the family birth center when i am ready. So yea, i am planning on working literally until I give birth.

I say the longer you wait to be off the better- the more time you have with your baby.

Good luck and congrats.

Depends on you really. With my first my OB was very conservative and asked me to work 1/2 time for two weeks and then 2 weeks totally off before I was induced. I am a teacher and with him I was in a lot of pain because my tummy tuck did not stretch out and I barely looked preggo, meaning my son was up in my ribs and I was out of breath just standing and sitting, so it was a good thing. With my daughter I worked up until 2 days before I had her and that was only because I had off Sat and Sun and was sheduled for an induction! lol I sat down most of the time the last month, and my feet swelled like balloons, but it was totally fine! :-)

I'm going to work all the way up until the end.  I want to spend every day possible with my baby (with pay) before I go back to work.

...and NOTHING tastes as good as this feels!

I say save it for after you deliver if you can...it means more unless you get complications of course....I worked up to the last day before the csection....

And like a PP said, know your rights on FMLA...you have up to 12 weeks under the law....not necessarily paid unless your company has STD or LTD or you can use vacation or some kind of policy....it is a law that protects your job....

Good luck....I was out 8 weeks paid and then worked 4 weeks remotely...was nice!

ALthough I am not personally experienced here...... a good friend  worked full time till the day she went into labor.   I recall, she worked at the office til 5pm, went home, changed in to party clothes to make an appearance at a Holiday party.  Went into labot at 9pm.. baby delivered by midnight  (In other words, she didn't have hard labor pains!)  She was back into to her size clothes by New Year's!

She was in sales at the time and worked light schedule and never really took an official leave.
