Another breastfeeding post!
I've been successfully breastfeeding Mallory for 1 week. She is swallowing and latching on great. She is pooping and peeing like crazy. I"m very happy with how it's going.. EXCEPT.... she is rooting like crazy! She will eat and be satisfied and fall asleep in my arms but as soon as I put her to bed she wakes up and starts rooting and sucking on everything. The only thing I've been able to do is feed her. I was up all night just feeding. I don't know if that's the right thing to do or not.
She won't take a pacifier either. I've bought 3 different brands and she spits them right out and really gets upset. I know she shouldn't have one now anyway because of nipple confusion but I'm just at a lost. I thought maybe you ladies might have some advice for me. I think I'll call the lactation nurse tomorrow and get some more advice.
Thanks in advance !
Suzy
sleep if you can...I'm dealing with the same thing. this child hates a paci. I've never dealt with that before. so I can sympathize. hugs
