Birth Story
So I'm in between feedings and trying to relax. I figured why not write my birth story.
Sunday afternoon I started to get contractions sporadically. While they were not regular, they were getting pretty strong. I said to my husband that I think we should pack a bag for the kids just in case. Well, after not being able to sleep all night, I figured that something was happening. At about 4:30 I had a "moment" in the bathroom. TIM, but I was nice and empty after that. LIL That's when I knew.
At 5 my contractions were all of the sudden back to back. So I woke my husband up and told him let's go have a baby. We literally threw half the house in the car (because we packed no bags the night before like I said we should have) and made it to the hospital by 7.
My contractions were way different with Maryn from the twins because I had some back labor. The OB midwife comes in and checks me and tells me that I'm 7 cm dilated. They couldn't get the IV started because my veins suck. After that it was a scramble. My husband had to run to his office to drop the twins off with his secretary and he made it back to hospital with literally about a minute to spare.
I went from 7 to 10 in less than an hour. They had just enough time to get an IV started, but didn't get to push all the antibiotics before I delivered (I was GBS +) 3 pushes with no drugs and no nothing and Maryn was out.
Since she's my kid, she wanted to be dramatic about her entrance. First she pooped in the pool (meaning she had a bowel movement in utero) and then drank the water. So she came out with a little bit of breathing issues (elevated respiration) and had lots of air in her belly. She is doing much better with her breathing today and her belly is still a little distended, but she's pooping like a champ and they expect that to get better in the next few days. She's still in the NICU and will remain there for at least another day or two. I hate that she's in there, but I have no doubt she will be out in no time. I'm crossing my fingers that we can all go home together. They are keeping me in the hospital for at least another day because I'm having some massive cramping issues. Kind of goes with the territory, but I don't remember them being this bad with the twins.
Oh and I had a second degree tare. That was fun to get stitched up with no epidural. NOT!!!!!
That's my story.
Thanks to everyone for all the well wishes and congrats! : )
Special thanks to Ann for being my Angel and posting for me.

Wonderful story! I am so glad everything went smoothly with the delivery. I have no doubt she will be out of the NICU and you will be experiencing the joys of a newborn and 1 year old twins in the comfort of your own home!
I wish for patience and rest for you!
