1st prenatal appointment next week

Since this will be my first pregnancy what can I expect from my 1st prenatal visit.

Paperwork, lots of questions, possibly a pap, MAYBE an ultrasound and blood work.  I know my 1st OBs office had portable ultrasound machines so I got an ultrasound at every appointment in my 1st trimester.  It was great!  Good luck!

MIne was mostly jsut paperwork, an internal exam complete with PAP - my OB's office rule is that if you are due for your PAP before the end of your pregnancy you get one at the first visit. They also do all the usual stuff, weight, Blood pressure, pee in a cup. I didn't have an ultrasound but maybe you will get lucky!

My first apt at 6 weeks was just with the nurse.  Lots of paperwork, questions, do's and don'ts etc.  They told me they dont do an ultrasound or anything at the first vist becasue at 6 weeks you may or may not hear anything and they like to wait till 9 or 10 so they can for sure hear a heartbeat.

I go back this Friday(closer to 9 weeks) for what I am calling my first real apt, will have an ultrasound, and bloodwork done and get to chat with the dr.

My first apt will be Jan 26th so I have a couple of weeks to go..Now I  what the Drs are going to do!!! Im soo excited and I cant wait..
