What do they do during a NST?
Put a belt on you, check for a certain amount of fetal movement, and specifically change over a period of time.
For Kaitlin, who was queen of "I'm not doing anything you tell me to do" -- she had to raise her heart rate 20 bpm for a few minutes, like 10 times.
And as innocuous as that sounds, it was hell. I started taking SF red bull and skittles in with me to try and wake her up. It still didn't work. When she'd fail that, I'd go in for an AFL (amnio fluid level) US, and if it was low, they'd plan on a stress test, where they would inject a contraction drug to force her to do something. But we never got that far cause my AFL's were always good.
