Dr Appt today
So - I had another appointment today, it was actually my intake appt with the OB's office. If you go by my last period I would be exactly 8 weeks today..... here is where I am starting to worry - tell me what you think. It is ok to be honest, I know that pregnancy is not always pony and rainbows, so if you have had an experience that is like this and didn't work out I still want to hear it.
So background info -
LMP 10/15
Positive OPK CD 17 10/31/09
positive HPT CD30 11/13/09
because of my late O date my RE said I will turn a week every Sunday - meaning that by his calender I am 7 weeks 4 days right now.
When I had an ultrasound with my RE on 11/30/09 I was 6 weeks 1 day right on target -
Today the said that I was measuring at 7 weeks 1 day. Now - it was on one of those crappy portable machines, so not formal by any means..... but now it looks as if I am measuring behind.
I am freaking out. This is how my angel baby I lost in 2008 started. Granted it was a bigger gap. I should have been about 7 weeks and she didn't see a heartbeat yet - but after one was detected a week later it still ended sadly.
I just don't know what to think and advise is appreciated. Thanks ladies.

A LOT depends on the machine and the skill of the technician and you are not measuring that far behind. Were they able to see the heartbeat today? Did the doctor seem worried about it or did they mention it might be a concern?
I know it's easier said than done, but I would not place too much into just one ultrasound that may have been performed on a not-so-great machine.

Yes HB was seen :) It was a really crappy machine so I am hoping that was the hang up. She just said everything looks normal for this stage and that they don't really know whether it is slow growth or just behind do to the late ov date..... that she hopes it all works out. I hate those kinds of answers!
Yup, heart was beating away..... I am not sure of the rate. She didn't measure it - it was not a high tech machine by any means - I will have a formal ultrasound at 12 weeks if I get there :)

Dawn,
My babies have always measured a little behind those first few weeks- It's just an average they put together, and there are so many variations. My husband is hispanic and they tend to be smaller people, so I think some of it has to do with that. I was actually surprised today at my appt for 13 weeks when both twins measured exactly 13 weeks- they've been behind this whole time. Even my OB said that was impressive, because I tend to be a little behind. As long as you saw the heartbeat, I think you should be fine for now.
