Triplets born
Hi everyone,
I know that it has been awhile but have been going through heck right now.
I began labor on the 27th of November. They got it stopped with magnesium sulfate after everything else that we had been using failed. I dialated to a 2-3 cm that night. The next day I spent on magnesium sulfate. Then on Sunday the doctor wanted to wean me off of the mag sulfate. They started using oral pills for endocine and terbutaline. Then they lowered the mag sulfate a 1/2 of a mL per hour. My contractions started again. Wasn't anything big. They gave me more of the oral meds and waited and nothing happened. They checked me and I had not changed. So the doctor upped my mag sulfate 1 mL. Still had contractions. They checked me after an hour and I was more than 6 cm. They said, you are going to deliver.
I began crying and it took a lot not to just give into some panic attacks, especially when they taped me down to the bed for the surgery. The anestisieologist was great and gave me some meds that took the panic away.
The first born was Eli William and he weighed 2 lbs 1 oz. He currently weighs 1 lb 14 oz. He had to be put on a respirator about 36 hours after he was born, he had a chest tube due to air in his chest cavity. It was removed a couple of days ago. He has had a level 3 and a level 4 brain bleed and we do not know what kind of effects this will have on him but these are both serious.
Second was Charlie Peyton, my little girl, who weighed 2 lbs 2 oz. She currently weighs 2 lbs. She was the first to be put on a respirator at about 24 hours after birth. She has two chest tubes for air in both sides of her chest cavity. She still has hers. She has a level 3 and level 4 brain bleed and it has resulted so far in hydrocephalus. We do not know what other effects she will suffer from the bleeds.
Third was Caleb Aaron at 1 lb 15 oz. He now weighs 2 lbs, the only one to weigh more than birth weight. He had a level 3 brain bleed, do not know if there are any side effects. He was put on a respirator last about 5 hours after his brother Eli. He has been stable otherwise. He does have a small PDA, which is the valve duct in the heart has not fully closed. He is not showing any symptoms other than they can hear a murmur. They feel that it will close on its own. If not then they can give him medication to make it close.
We are really stressed out and terrified. We do not know if they will survive or not and if they do they could all have very serious long term disabilities.
Please pray for my babies.
