Maybe It's Just Me

Prepare yourselves ladies.   I'm in a *****y mood and I know how to effin use it!

Maybe it's me, maybe it's because I went through what I went through to get pregnant, I don't know, but it ****** me off to no end when I see pregnant women drinking!

One of my FB friends (which is why I'm not *****ing about this in my status) recently got married.  His new wife is clearly pregnant.  She is due before me, so she's really quite pregnant.   In every shot of their wedding and HM, she has a different drink in her hand.  Wine, champagne, more champagne, wine, etc.

I don't give a **** that it's her wedding day or HM.  SHE'S PREGNANT!!!!!!    WTF ARE YOU DOING?  And I don't want to hear that it is OK in some cultures.   Just because it's accepted doesn't make it right!   I mean this wasn't like it was one glass of red wine to jump start labor, this looked like a full on drinking bender spread out over a few days.

My SIL who is do 01/15/2010... feels it is okay to have a beer here and there or a glass of wine... so I do understand where you are coming from.

I just won't go there... It ****** me off to no end.

just in her offense.. I have been to 2 different weddings where the bride was already clearly pregnant and they had bought cases of sparkling cider for the bride an other non drinkers. It may have been that? We get sparkiling apple cider all the time here for th holidays at my families house and to be honest it looks so much like wine sometimes you would never know the difference.

just my two cents.. Ya never know. Looks may be decieiving.

Well I believe you said they were only pictures you saw of her holding "drinks". So how do you "KNOW" they weren't non-alcoholic drinks? Why should I trust you and just your eyes on the pictures they've seen? I have not seen them and con not make the determination.

I agree drinking while pregnant is NOT COOL and NO ONE should do it. But I too have a LOT of FB friends who are non-alcoholic drinkers but because their pictures make it "look" like they are drinking doesn't make me question their non-alcoholism status.

Strawberry daiquiris also come as non-alcoholic strawberry daiquiris. Sparlkling cider does look the same as wine when put into the same glass. Sparkling grape juice also looks like red wine.

Again, I agree no pregnant woman should be drinking alcohol but I also don't let the perception of a picture determine the truth. Looks can be deceiving, is all I am saying and that I am agreeing with Tanya, on this one. Otherwise I agree with the "no drinking while pregnant" complaint.

So again, if you didn't attend the wedding and don't have first hand witnesses to her ordering and drinking wine, champagne and more wine and champagne, then how can you "KNOW" purely based on a picture?! Isn't that cir****tantial evidence in the world of Law?!

I can tell the difference between a $100 bottle of wine and a $3.50 bottle of grape juice that's why.  Especially when I can see in the pictures her husband pouring her drinks out of the bottle of wine into her glass.

Any other questions?

All I am saying is I don't see the picture. Lables can be changed out too. I don't know your friend but you do, and if you fully believe she was drinking alcohol while pregnant, then  . . .well I don't know what to tell you. Confront her?! Ask her husband why he let his wife drink and why he helped her drink alcohol why pregnant?!

I wonder if they have ever spent anytime with someone who has fetal acohol syndrome. My step daughter has it. The short story of it is my husband and his ex-wife were separated when he found out she was pregnant....(might I add she didnt tell him until she was 5 months) anyway she drank a lot when she was pregnant with Becca.
Now Becca has some pretty severe learning disabilities. She is the hardest worker I know. She does have some special ed classes, but some normal ones too. She was tested and reads at a 5th grade level and is in the 8th grade. Last year it was a 1st grade level. She has REALLY brought it up! I have been working with her like crazy and it is paying off....but sometimes it really feels like there is no light on in there. She is socially behind...big time. She does things that are not appropriate for her age. In fact she still plays with little girl toys and even acts like a small girl. She freaks out over the littlest things. All because her Mother drank while pregnant. It makes me SO mad and it breaks my heart. Please think about the future of your baby and how hard life could be for your child.

Huh, and actually having photo documentaion of it. Pretty stupid, idiotic, and dangerous. there isn't anyone telling her this is bad? Or discouraging her? Is she stupid, careless, or just an airhead?
