Pain and Pressure...My rant time
Hey guys,
I hate to be whining when this is all I have been praying for for 11 years but I have been in constant pain for 3 days now. The doctors say its the normal stretching etc. and to take Tylenol, the tylenol doesn't help and the only thing that does is the heating pad. I'm happy that the pain is normal and that makes me feel good in a way, but I am starting to feel nervous that if the pain is knocking me off my feet now, what am I in store for later. I want to be a trooper, so I'm at work today with my tylenol and heating pad.

Whine away, 3 straight days of pain is brutal! At least you know it's normal and nothing to worry about - gotta look for the silver lining ;) And heck, labour isn't 3 days usually so think of it like that, if you can survive this, delivery will be a breeze! Ok, maybe not, but ykwim :)

Thanks for the PEP talk! I needed that. It seems like the labor will be exciting at this point. This is just, toss turn, pain, toss turn, pee, toss turn...you get the picture. I am the office manager at work and I hate for people to see me like this but once I'm here, and the pain hits, I could care less where I am. So much for the strong leader type! Everyone's been great but I'm used to being the one to take care of everyone else...

Its sharp pains all across the lower abdomon and then the pressure is in the vaginal area, it sort of feels like when my period is about to start.
I already called the doctor. (I call every time I have a pain I don't know what it is) They told me it was okay unless I have other symptoms and the degree of severity changes to cramps or bleeding or something.

I'm so sorry you are going through this. I remember having sharp pains and pressure and fearing I was going to lose the baby, which was NOT the case at all. Who would have thought that normal pregnancy stretching could be so painful and frightening. I'm glad you aways check with your doctor. Speaking of that, not to be a nag and possibly take away one of the two forms of relief you have, but did you check with your doctor on using a heating pad? My OB would only allow it for my back, not the front even on the lowest heat setting, unless it was well away from the baby.
The doctor was the one that suggested the heating pad. She said some people get relief using a heating pad but to only use it in 15 min. increments. I also alternate the positions its in. This was the Labor and Delivery doctor so I hope the information was good. I go to my doctor next week (I pray its over by then) but I'll double check with them anyway, you can never be too careful. Thanks for the heads up.
