Ok, I am back here posting after about 6 months of just reading... I hit my one year out of surgery on November 24th.  I am down from 300 pounds to 199.  I am thinking I should have lost more, but by in no means am I complaining!  I am very healthy and happy!  I was suppose to go to get my levels  checked for the first time after surgery in December, however a little surprise has happened.  I believe according to ept and first response I am pregnant.  My last MP was 11/4.  I called my primary care dr, and she wants me to see a specialist, saying my pregnancy is high risk due to surgery??? I am here for advice.  Unfortunately I was one of those that NEVER dumped nor had any side of effects from the surgery... I have always been able to eat whatever, although I have tried to stick to Doctor's orders.  Any advice I am here with open ears!

thank you so much... I am super excited.  I plan to wait to tell my 9 and 6 year old until Valentines day!   How did you do with your pregnancy?? How far out where you?

I believe i was around 10 months out, when i found out. I was on Oral Birth Control for 9 years when i found out. But a happy little shock of a blessing we did get.  I had horrible GERD and also Vomitting while i was pregnant, it stopped when i was about 6 months pregnant. I think i gained a total of 21 pounds total and that was at the last couple of months. I was not considered high risk, and did just find. Start taking a OTC Daily Vitamin.......NOW! I could not take most vitamins , due to me puking everything in sight........i stayed with a Gummi Childrens Multivitamin 2X a day, a RX Iron 1X a day, and RX Stool Softner 2X a day and then the usual Zofran, Phenerghan for vomitting and then fianlly Protonix for my stomach issues.

Good Luck to you!

Congrats. You have to add carbs. I took 2 prenatals a day and 4 calcium. Also the prevacid, b complex and my monthly b12 shot. I have only dumped on a few things but while pregnant I was throwing up more the last 3 months. The surgery should not automatically make you high risk. Just depends on doctors though. They are different everywhere. Good luck!!!
