When I had my daughter 7 years ago, I used Ivory Snow and now I can't find it in my area.  Formula stains are the devil!

What do you use?

I use Tide Free and haven't had one problem with any stains and I only do his laundry once a week.

I used Dreft with my daughter. It was gentle and smells really good!

I just use what ever detergent I am using for my clothes at the time. If I know I will not be doing his laundry for a couple days and I know the stain will settle in to the clothes I just give a spray with Shout. Never had a problem, clothes are always soft and smell good. No skin reactions.

Don't bother with the baby detergent, I personally think it is a waste of money unless your baby has sensitive skin.

Just my opinion.

I agree completely.   I use Tide Free with my clothes, and with Alex's.  It costs the same as regular Tide for the same quantity... and i pre-treat stains with Spray n Wash.  No reactions from him yet.

ETA:  I do wash his loads separately though, because I add an extra rinse cycle to his stuff.

I don't use special laundry detergent. Formula does stain and I BF so I can't help. I know the sun is a natural bleaching agent for breastfeeding stains but I don't think it works well for formula. Maybe try Shout ™ stain remover.

I don't have a baby yet but hubby is #1 stain-maker lol I use 20 mule team borax in with every load or Oxy clean - not sure if they are safe for baby or not though. I also use All free and clear because I have sensitive skin

I used Dreft in the beginning but it was a bit pricey, I then switched to the Target Off brand of Dreft and now just use what we use...Gain. We have had no reactions and Emad's skin is pretty sensitive. I do use the Dreft stain remover spray though and if not doing wash that day I just be sure to spray the stain when before putting the clothes in the hamper so it does not set and if it is whites you can get chlorine free bleach, dilute, add in a bit of baking soda, and soak before washing and it tends to help.

Thank you ladies for all of the suggestions!  I'll be trying them out to see what works best.
