holy cow!!!
We were just talking about that w/ PlussizedBarbie's post....I eat everything all the time. I keep thinking one more thing and I'm going to dump and it hasn't happened. I wonder if I've totally ruined my tool already? Oh well, I have only gained 8 lbs in my 4 month journey. That doesn't sound too bad to me.
336lbs 6/19/06 - 198 lbs - 6/19/10 138 lbs gone forever!!!
We have our miracle: Jakob Makhi born 4-15-10; 4 lbs. 10 oz. 22" long.
Well girls, it must be in the air. I am not even pregnant and I have been eating everything that is not nailed down...lol...Chavon, your post stating that you keep thinking if I eat one more thing I am going to dump...made me laugh because last night I was thinking the same thing, but I kept right on eating. I never did dump..which was a miracle because by all rights, I should have!! However, I just got on the scale and I weigh 102 pounds...YIPPPEEEE!!! Up from 97 pounds on Monday. I know it seems crazy that I am glad I gained...but staying above 95 pounds is keeping my butt outta the operating room. I say...eat healthy...enjoy your pregnancy...worry about the weight when you are done being pregnant. If you end up nursing...that will help you to lose the weight, and besides...the trend with WLS girls seems to be that whatever they gain comes off fairly quickly as soon as they deliver!! So I would not stress too much!! I think 8 pounds in 4 months is fabulous. I think they recommend between 25 and 30 pounds now for normal gain...so you girls are doing awesome...and here is to eating until we dump! CHEERS! LOL

LIZ,
When I had my first baby I was only 16 years old...but I lost weight until my 6th month. The OB was starting to get concerned until I went in for my 6 month check up and had gained 14 pounds in ONE month...I said...okay am I caught up now??? LOL It was so crazy that I was losing weight as I was eating everything that was not nailed down...I'm sure it was stress and being 16 and all...not a good situation...but I managed to gain almost 40 pounds before it was over...SHEESH!!!! BTW...I gave that baby up for adoption...so somewhere out there...I have a 22 year old son. I love watching that new adoption show where they find families...I have never looked for him and never will. I do NOT want to interrupt his life...I figure if he wants to find me, his mom and dad have my attorneys name and know enough to help him find me as adoptive mom and I corresponded through my entire pregnancy. I even wrote him a letter for them to give to him at an appropriate age if they felt like it was the right thing to do...just explaining why I gave him up to them and what not...anyway...that is way off topic...not sure why I brought that up when we are talking about gaining weight...LOL

Yanno,
way before WLS was so popular they used to say that if you were overweight, that it was okay to lose or at least not gain during a pregnancy...so I am sure your doc is very correct as long as you still have some to lose and are staying out of ketosis. Do you have some of your own urine strips???? You can get those yourself and check your own urine weekly if you feel like it. If you were losing and only weighed 100 pounds that would definitely be an issue. Who knows...maybe you will hit goal and not even have to worry about losing when your little one gets here...wouldn't that be awesome??? I know you are already doing this by reading your posts, but just be diligent about getting your malabsorption labs done to make sure you are not depleting anywhere. The most important are iron, D, and the B vitamins. The rest are important for different reasons but not AS important as those. Also, my WLS doc has recommended that I have a DEXA scan to make sure that I do not have osteoporosis, so that may be something you ask about after baby comes.
Take Care Liz :)
