How much weight did everyone gain?????

Hello~

I know this queston has been asked soooo many times before but I just need some help.

I am almost 3 years out of surgery and am 14 weeks pregnant. I have gained 4lbs so far. Both my OB and surgoen say that this is fine. I feel like a whale and always check to see how big my tummy is and weigh myself once a week. I know that I have to gain weight for the baby. But I do not want to go out of control.  I have added 2 extra snacks in my diet.  But I am always worried about gaining weight.  My husband is very nice to me when I talk to myself out loud and say "I had ..... for breakfast and this for snack and....." and so on througout the day.
How do I get over the fact that I am not going to be like I was and how do I make sure that I am not going to gain so much weight and after I have the baby will I go back to eating the way I did before I got pregnant? (even though my pouch will be stretched out.)
My friend who have had babies say just gain the weight you will be fine but they do not know and do not understand that I went through to lose weight and do not want to gain an enormous amount of  weight besides what I  have to for the babies sake. I am so excited that I am pregnant!!

Any comments would be greatly appreciated!!

With my first post op baby I was 8 months out. Starting weight 208, lost a bunch and delivered at 206. At my 6 week I was 184 but then gained 18 pounds in 18 months breastfeeding.

I got pregnant again when she was 2 1/2 and was 227, delivered at 253 and was 217 at my 3 week check up but 227 at my 6 week. Gained 13 pounds in 13 months nursing and started dieting and exercising at 240 pounds. Current weight is ranging between 166 and 168.

My advice is to eat healthy, take your vitamins, and don't worry too much. Most of the weight you will gain will come off, drink tons of water to flush out salt and to give your baby good amniotic fluid. Enjoy your pregnancy!

I was a year out when I got pregnant. Weighed 230 and still weighed 230 when I delivered. Max is 11 months and I still weigh 230. When this baby is born I am going to do the 5 dpt and get it going again. As long as your healthy do not put to much worry into it.

I gained 60 with both.  I was bed-ridden with the 1st pregnancy, but not with the 2nd and really watched my diet.  My OB said it was somewhat genetic.  I think they were being nice, but since the two situations were different, maybe not.  I dunnow.  I didn't exercise with either (the 2nd was pretty horrible as well, but as I had a young one to take care of, I didn't have the luxury of staying in bed all day, so I didn't) so I wasn't exactly a big lump.

I'm finally down to my pre-baby #1 weight.  I'm just slow that way.

By the time I delivered I was just over 2 years out.  I gained 40 lbs.  Have lost 20 of it.  If I would get myself motivated and start exercising and eating properly again, I'm sure I could drop the rest. I started at 146 and now weigh 165

My first pregnancy I started at 150, gained 50 to = 200 lbs.  I lost 42 within 2 weeks and never lost another lb.
I started the twins' pregnancy at 160, gained 57 lbs to = 217.  I am at 166/167 now (well, I have been since 2 weeks after delivery).  I can't wait to get the green light to exercise again!

Thanks for everyone's reply.  So staying the way I am right now trying to make  the best choices (I do slip up from time to time and eat something that is not the best for me) do my pregnancy exercises, drink my water and just let the weight come on naturally and not worry so much about it I will be fine.
Seems like everyone lost most of their weight after the baby was born and then will lose or lost  the rest when they exercise and eat like they did before they got pregnant.
Thanks- you guys put my weight at ease!!!

I am about 18 months out from surgery and 22 weeks now.  My doc says I've only gained 4 lbs (as of my last appt just before Thanksgiving) but my home scale says I've gained 7- I think I'll go with the doc on this one (LOL).   I was a little nervous about getting pg after surgery, losing 130 pounds and then gaining back who knows how much when I get pg- then trying to lose it after baby is born!

But the thing is, with my other 2 babies when I was bigger and pre-op, I lost the baby weight within a month of when I had them.  I was 215 with my first and gained 35 and then 260 with my 2nd baby and gained 16 lbs.  I lost all the weight after #1 in 3 weeks and then lost more than I gained with #2 in about the 3 weeks again (I lost 30 lbs and had only gained 16)!!   I had horrible PPD (had to go on meds for a few months) and breastfed, and had NO appetite for the first about 2 months after I had them.   I had to force myself to eat and gagged down food.   I drank like 2 gallons of water a day (was sooo thirsty from b/f) and I think the combo of those three things helped me get the weight off quick.

We'll see how this one goes though, I'm a little nervous about losing it afterwards and then how much I'll gain during the pg!  But I think 4 lbs at 22 wks is good, the baby is only about a pound right now.  But I know it'll start coming on more now that he will be getting bigger and I'm more than halfway through the pg now.

Just eat as healthy as you can, drink lots of water, and take your vitamins and you'll gain what is healthy for your pregnancy.  Yeah, they have these quotas of what you're supposed to gain during your pg but you will gain what you gain and you can't worry if you are doing everything right and still gaining a lot.   GL!

Hit goal weight of 140 at 13 months out from RNY!! 130 pounds GONE!

I think that after being obese for so long and going through all we have gone through to lose the weight, it is only natural to be concerned about gaining weight.  I am 4 years post-op, 25 weeks preggo and have gained 14 pounds.    I have to say that it was disturbing to me when I saw that number on the scale this morning.  Although, my #1 goal is to have a healthy baby.  I am just going to focus on eating more balanced meals and incorporating a little exercise.

Other than that, I am not going to worry myself too much about it.  That is definitely hard for us WLS folks to do, but this is a special cir****tance.

Take care!

I am 22 weeks and when I started I was 158lbs.  I went down to 141lbs because I was real sick but man I looked damn good.  Now, at 22 weeks preg, Im 160lbs.  To be honist, I hope I dont gain too much more.  Non pregnancy weight Im supposed to be at 155lbs!!!!  Im 2.5 years out from RNY and was 264.  I watch these lucky women walk out of the hospital weighing less than they started out and in there skinny jeans.  In my mind my goal is to do the same.  Wishful thinking!!!!!
