I think you've got the right idea!  I've still got a long way to go, but I haven't decided if I'll tell yet.  I already know my mom doesn't like my boy name (Xander) and I frankly don't give a rat's ass! LOL

The first thought that comes to mind of Aurora is the beautiful disney princess. So I guess it goes to show that the name haters don't know much. The name is beautiful and will your child be whatever you name her. As for the haters well you'll always have to put up with them. Just go with what you feel at the time and screw the rest.

omg the name thing, so frustrating!!
i am dealing with a similar situation.
My fiance lost his dad to cancer 2 weeks before we found out we were expecting and EVERYONE in his family has decided that if its a boy he will be named after him.
I LOVED his dad to death, i hate that my child will never know him, he was a GREAT man BUT i dont want to name my child Mario and my fiance doesnt want to either!!
Ive decided that im not even going to waste my time arguing with the fam about it now, they will just find out the babys name when he/she is born!!! i even started to consider giving him the middle name mario to please them BUT the more i think about it the less i want to lol ( i feel like im being mean)!
Mario just seems like a first name, no matter what name i match it with it just doesnt have that "ring" to it.
lol oh well good luck, i would definitely stay hush about baby names until delivery, now i know why they always did that on "a baby story" on tlc LOL

Aurora is certinly better than Bertha (blech - no offense to any Bertha's out there, like my neighbor, LOL).

It doesn't matter what other people think and they'll grow to love her no matter what her name is.

Also I have a daughter names Jaylen, myself! She's 3.

I have:
Sariah Anne
Rachel Elizabeth
Mason Nicholas
Liam Joseph
Kaden Luis
Jaylen May
Evan David

For this one it will be either
Adelyn Grace or Ashton Michael.

Dh isn't fond of Ashton Michael because it reminds him of Ashton Kutcher and the character heplayed on That 70's Show, Michael, LOL But I like the name Ashton and Michael is a family name on both his side and our side.

My sister named her oldest Emma at the same time Rachel on Friend's name her baby Emma so, so many thought she named her baby Emma because of the show, but she didn'****ch the show. Show's over and Emma is an even more beautiful name now that the show is off the air.

If you and DH like Aurora then ignore the haters because they don't matter.

Ashton makes me think of the Mayfair Witches series by Anne Rice - it always confuses me about Ashton Kutcher, it's so seperate in my head.  So there's an alternate reason if you need one :)

I was more surprised when we named Liam so many people said "I've never heard that name before." I was confused because I associated the name with Liam Neeson, the actor. DH picked the name out but I liked it. So it confused me when people said they'd never heard the name before, LOL I guess Liam Neeson isn't as popular an actor as I thought he was, LOL

I love the name. I have three living children and we discussed the name with everyone a head of time. This time we just say we haven't decided, which we haven't yet, but we are sticking to that story. They will know when the baby is born what we decide and then hopefully they can keep there opinions to themselves.

I didn't keep names a secret from people. If they didn't like it, pound sand. It's my kid. And trust me, NO ONE liked the names of my kids when I told them. Now, everyone does. Go figure.

I have a.....

McCoy
Sawyer
Riley
Jantzen

My oldest and my youngest are the 2 names I caught the most hell for. But oh well. I love the names. McCoy loves his name and always tells me he loves that we named him that. Jantzen is too little to say.....LOL.

But again, don't listen to other people. Once the baby is here, the name always "just fits"

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

Ahhh, one of the many reasons we didn't even tell people the names we were considering!

IGNORE THEM. This is your baby, name her what feels right to you! They'll love her no matter what her name is, and they'll get used to it pretty quick.
