UGH opinionated people!

I really cannot listen to it anymore.  EVERYBODY dislikes the name we were thinking of.  I know only me and DH's opinions count, but my whole family hates the name we really like.  They are soooooo annoying trying to think of new names, then they just go off on a tangent and say stupid names like "Bertha."

We really like Aurora, my cousin, who I am very close to, mainly because I only have 1 cousin, "cannot" say it and says she's gonna call her "Rory" which I hate.  My sister says it sounds like a stripper name??  and everyone else thinks it's too hard to say.

I can understand there might be some difficulty level when she is young saying Aurora, but it's not the hardest name in the world to pronounce.

Sorry I'm being a board hog today, but people make me so frustrated.  We are not naming her until she is born and we see her, another favorite name is Ivey, but people have issues with that too.

They want us to name her something like "Brianna" or "Kaylee."  Not that there's anything wrong with those names, they are just too common for me.

Anyone else have these problems??  If we named her Aurora, do you think people will forget all about how much they dislike the name once the little cute baby is born??

LOL I think the name Jaylyn is very pretty.  IDK how people think they can just say stuff like that.  I mean family is one thing, but random ppl.  That's annoying.  Sophia is one name people are trying to get me to name this baby.  I don't like it so much either.  I also mentioned ONE time I like the name Jade and they are all jumping down my throat trying to get me to name her that because they all like it, but it's not my fav.

O well, no one is going to know her name until she's born.  They can deal with it!

Don't worry I have the same issue. I don't even know what it is yet but I do have a girl's name already chosen. My family will have to live with my choice. You said you liked Ivey? I have a friend whose name was Ivana and we call her Ivey. Just passing that on. Aurora is a beautiful name. They won't have to live with the name the baby will so don't put too much stock in what others think about it.

This is why I never told anyone what we were thinking of naming our daughter- Not until she was born! People gave me a hard time about it- "You must not like the name." etc., but I really didn't want everyone's opinions on it. Plus, I live in Utah where a million babies are born and everyone steals other people's names. So, I never told anyone. I did tell my Mom I think, when we were close to delivery. She never told anyone that I know of. I like the name Aurora. It's not tha thard to say, and kids struggle to say their own names for a while anyway, no matter what! If you like it, use it. They'll get used to it.

Who cares what everyone else thinks?  Frankly I despise my 3 yr old niece's name (Nevaeh, heaven spelled backwards) but I love her to pieces, and I don't love her any less because I hate her name :)  I'm sure your family will be the same.  What I think is crazy is how they are telling you that.  We never told my sister in law what we think of the name, that would be so rude!

Not that it matters at all what I think but Aurora is on my list too, I think it's very pretty ;)

It really is, I find it so hard to pick names as I really don't want my hypothetical child to be one of 5 xxxx in their class, ykwim?  With my niece, as tacky as it is, I would've preferred Heaven to Nevaeh. LOL  And to make matters worse, her mother won't let us nickname her (no Nev, Nevie****il she's old enough to choose one... grrrr.  My 9 month old niece though who is Caitlyn we ARE allowed to call Caity... go figure.  But I digress... anyway, ignore what everyone else thinks, they aren't your daughter's parents, YOU are and you'd better get used to it because I'm sure they'll be giving their opinions on every possible topic having to do with child bearing and rearing! LOL

I learned with my first to never give the name out to family and friends until the big day arrives.  My family is also very opinionated and can be down right rude! :)
I haven't told anyone the name of our daughter and it's been fun because everyone is just dying to know.
You know once she's here and we tell everyone the name no one is going to say they don't like it because she'll be so cute! :)
