What blood test did you keep an eye on?

Hello. I was wondering if you had your doc run any additional blood test to keep an eye on things?  Like vit levels, etc.  Anything we would get during our yearly blod test from our baratric surgons that we should have our OB look out for?

Thanks,

Kim

I would ask your OB or surgeon for a full panel for your vitamins.  They want to make sure everything is in normal range.  A big one is iron, but they look at all your vitamins.  Also, at your first OB appt they will have you get tons of blood taken!  I also requested my thyroid be checked, just to put me at ease!

Good luck!

my doc told me to have my OB run a full panel of blood tests for me every 3 months.  So far everything was fine on my last one at 9 weeks and I just barely had one done last week (haven't heard back from that yet).   I have just added a prenatal and a 800 mcg folic acid just before bed to my daily regimen and that seems to be working!

Hit goal weight of 140 at 13 months out from RNY!! 130 pounds GONE!

Hi Kim,
just wanted to say congrats!  We have the same due date!  lol

My doctors didn't run any special test when I was pg with my daughter, but I know that I was low on iron, so this time around I will be making sure they watch that more closely.

take care,

Every 8 weeks, you should have at the minimum, the following run:

iron, neurological, and bon health
