OT: Would you be pissed off too?

So I for about 3 weeks I been having a clear discharge with a foul smell (not fishy) and then symptoms went away. Ok so DH comes home from being out to sea 1 month (the only port he was in was when he flew out from home, he went directly to the boat and they never stopped again until home). We had sex and the day after he came home told me he was itchy at the tip and burn when he urinated. So I called my doctor for my appointment because I was thinking I must not be cured and still have whatever I had weeks ago (Bacterial Infection - not STD). So I call to make an appointment say they cant get me in until December 7th. I tell the nurse DH symptoms and that he was out to sea the past month with no stops ...she chuckles and says`"thats what he tells you" I said no he just got the symptoms after we did it the night before she again said the same thing implying he's been cheating on me. I'm highly offended and wonder if I should write a letter to the Director. She said sounds like BV (Bacterial Vaginosis) and he CANT get that from you, she then said he should be the one getting tested. It was rude and I am kinda mad about it.

I would be pissed!  I can't imagine someone would say that to you. My dh is a truck driver and he's gone 21-25 days a month.  And if someone said that to me I'd probably sock them.  But, it sounds like it could be a yeast infection.  Your dh may try using some monistat down there.  A yeast infection could be passed back and forth continually.  Sometimes there are no symptoms also.  I hope you both are "feeling" better soon!

I would be LIVID!!! How completely unprofessional!! He can get irritated from you having a bacterial issue.  It happened to my hubby a few years ago.  (It is more likely if he is un-circumcised.) Have Hubby soak it in a bath of 50/50 vinigar and water.  I know it sounds gross, but it raises the Ph of the area and the bacteria dont like it and cant live.   It is an easy homeopathic remedy that works most of the time.  I hope you all feel better.

I would write a letter and ALSO speak to the Dr. directly.  I hope you got her name.  Ugh! I hate to see people get fired, but she does not belong in a Dr.'s office, perhaps she could get a job at a salon! Grrrrr....sorry, rude & Ignorant people really make me angry.

I actually was in a similar situation with an ER Dr. who accused my husband or myself of something "fishy" going on right in front of the two of us. Just let me tell you, THERE IS NO WAY, and we both know that, not even a slight doubt in either of our faithfulness, NONE!!! But it was infurriating and beyond frustrating at the lack of kindness and curteousy we were displayed and how he was just assuming we had relationship issues we needed to work out. I went to my OB the next day and it turns out my problem was an easy fix and not anywhere near what the ER Dr. was immplying. That just ended up making me even more mad when I explained to her what he suggested and she said, no way, it's an infection you two are passing back and forth to each other, and not a big deal at all. I could have killed the ER Dr., making me feel so foolish, and also having me go an entire night thinking I had some sort of disease!

So moral of my story, they can be wrong!!! Get a second opinion!!!

WOW...can't even believe the nerve....if she was thinking it...that's bad enough but to say it????  My hubby's a Navy man too, and I would let everyone in that office know what you thought of her comments.  It could be a number of things but doesn't mean he was cheating...

She is just probably someone who got burnt before and thinks all men are like the one she had....

Hope all heals!  Stacey

To play devils advocate............it IS something that is asked regularly if symptoms could possibly resemble any STD of ANY kind. It sucks, but it is part of life and something that DOES happen.

However, since that is such a sensitive subject, addressing it should be done delicately and not rude. Also, in my experience, it's not appropriate to even have that conversation on the phone. If symptoms are there, an appointment should be made, and that should be a private discussion in the exam room to rule out any and all possibilities.

TRUST me when I say that there are TONS of women and girls that do get STD's everyday. So it is way common for them to call doc office. (you would be shocked......even in this day and age of education) But it hits a more personal heart string when you are in a committed relationship and are being asked those questions. Even I, get bothered when I get asked them, and I have had to be the "asker" of those questions myself.

Th nurse was out of line......inappropriate and disrespectful.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!
