In the hospital with one of the twins.....
Hello and good morning ladies...
I know I havent been on...but things have been so crazy...
For the past few days I was not able to sleep b/c Amaya would cry like crazy and curl up in a ball... couldnt keep down any of her formula and was going poppy alot...it was normal poo
so didnt think anything of it, she also kept spitting up and that scary sight with her vomiting throu her nose and mouse, I felt so bad for my poor baby and I felt hopeless being that everything I did was not making her feel any better.
I brought her to the ER on Monday and she ended up getting admitted... I feel bad because I was told she was dehydrated????????? I thought how? as much as I feed her and she didnt look dehydrated to me, I felt bad because I should be able to notice this things :(.
Anyways she has been here ever since...she is looking better, still not wanting to eat much but she is getting there.
I will post back again soon...I like this new Hospital they have computers..lol.
Well just wanted to keep everyone informed.
By the way good luck to those new mommies to be
and Congrats to the ones who just found out they are expecting.

Uh oh! I hope little Amaya is feeling better soon! How scary to be in the hospital with a new little one. Clara was pooping tons and they said it could be a sign of lactose intollerence and had me switch her formula to Similac Sensitive - Lactose Free. She now poops just twice a day. If you go with the one with added rice starch for spitting up, it's lactose free also. Maybe??? I hope you get some answers for your sweet little girl!!!

Sending get well vibes to little Amaya! Don't be too hard on yourself! Motherhood is all about on-the-job training. You can't know everything right away, and some things we never learn! ;)
When my oldest was an infant, he once cried nonstop for nearly 24 hours before it even ocurred to me to give him a dose of those gas drops that I had bought just because they were on one of the "must have" checklists and had been carrying around in the diaper bag for a couple of months. When I finally thought to try them, he stopped crying immediately. I felt like such a horrible mommy that I had let him suffer unnecessarily when I had the solution all along. Not as bad as ending up in the hospital, I know, but just an example of how we have to learn as we go and cut ourselves some slack.
Now, get off the hospital's computer and use one of their chairs to catch a nap while you have the chance! ...Natalie

Don't beat yourself up...I'd hazard a guess that a lot of us might know the symptoms of dehydration in an infant...especially if you're feeding them and they're pooing.
Is Amaya the one who was born with the intestinal problems? If so...could whatever that problem is be what's causing the constanting puking? I'd be worried about that because I'd be afraid she'd breath in some of it since it's coming out her nose and mouth. I think that could cause pneumonia if that happened.
I hope you both go home soon and that they're able to find out what's wrong and fix it.
