HSG Today

I am having my HSG today at 2:30 and I am starting to get anxious. For those who have known my story, I had one done last December as the first step my RE wanted done. Well, it hurt like he** and ended up with a bladder infection, ER, bladder trauma and a catheter. I got discharged from ER with a catheter and had to follow-up with a Urologist the next day to deal with everything. I guess after going through that I can't help but be anxious.

When scheduling the appointment, I talked to the nurse about the issues I had last year with this procedure. She said that we will have to talk to the doctor who is performing it about giving me an antibiotic. I WILL be getting an antibiotic because I don't want to go back through all that. They said to just take Advil like last time (which didn't do anything for the pain)!

Also, I am going to remind them that my vayjayjay is attached to stuff. So, by the time you get the catheter, vaginal ultrasound thing, and the other thing inside me there is a lot in my hooha! I am going to remind the doctor about how it would feel for all that to be going up his holes!!!

Thanks for reading my vent :)

Good luck today Traci! I hope that this one goes much more smoothly. Can they give you anything to relax you before the procedure?

Thanks, Liz.  I wish they would but they won't. They say take the Advil before the procedure and it will help with the contractions and cramping that happens. I don't think so :) I think the nurse and the doctor should both have the procedure done on them so when tell me to just breath through it. I have a high pain tolerance but that SH*T hurts!!!

I know I am being a whiny baby at the moment, but I can't help it. It is like getting hit by a truck. Are you going want to step up to a truck and let it hit you? No, you already know it is going to hurt so you don't want to get in front of that truck :)

You have every right to whine! I'd make them give me an Adivan (sp?) or Xanax before they started!

Ihave also had 2 done, and they should not hurt like that.  all I had was cramps from hell after the first, and no pain or cramping at all after the 2nd one.  I guess it also depends on the OB doing it.
