Band Deflate

Hello.   I just wanted to share that after much debate and several posts on the forum, I did have a little deflate (1 cc out of 7 cc) taken out of my band finally.   I am 23 weeks and have had my band for two years. Around this time of year, I get some kind of allergy or sinus infection in which I hold mucus in my pouch and find it almost impossible to eat anything. Sometimes I make it through or before pg I'd get a little taken out.  Well after more than a week of only eating probably 2 decent meals that whole time and losing two or so lbs in 2 weeks, i gave in and had the dr. take some out. oh, what a relief but I can eat ALOT. I had a chick-fil-a sand and some fries today. Yikes, God help me not go crazy.    I'm really glad I did it cause it was miserable eating the same half a dozen things or so over and over even before I got sick.  I hope after the intial thrill of eating again, i'll cool it with over doing it.

So if anybody out there is thinking about a little taken out of their band I would recommend it b/c I feel so much better and healthier now.  Also, dr. bets after baby gets better, I will just be more confortable not being so tight.

I'm glad you're able to eat now. It's been hard for me trying to eat healthy when I'm totally craving chips and salsa like almost everyday!

Hi!
As I posted yesterday, I too had to have a deflate, but a total deflate very early on because my restriction was above and beyond!  The day I finally decided that I had to do it was when i couldnt even get yogurt down without sliming.  That is bad!!
I was ready to cry as the doctor was going to do it, but he said "just look at it as a small bump in the road.  Yes it is going to turn into a bigger bump but in a different way!!"  And that is how I have looked at it.
Now even with not having any saline in there, I still feel a good amount of restriction.  Not a whole heck of a lot, but enough to remind me that my band is there and will be ready to go back into business as soon as I am ready for it.

I too had to have everything taken out of my band.  I didnt want to do it but had to cause I couldnt even ge****er down.  I only wanted a little taken out but my doc said they wouldnt just take out a little, they would only take out everything cause they didnt want to have to be poking around once the baby was getting bigger.  It made me very upset but I figured I didnt have a choice.

My question for you is, how long ago did you have it all taken out and how much have you gained?  I have had absolutely no will power since being able to eat again.  I went for so long being able to eat barely anything and I am definately making up for it.  It is very depressing.  The  fact that I can get the fills again (and have a new baby boy) is the only light at the end of the tunnel.

Just curious how you are handling it.

Wow that's a lot! Remember that a lot of the hunger is in your head, not your belly.
