question about discharge..

I am almost 7 weeks along.  For the last 4 days sometimes when I wipe it's like the end of your period...light brown, old blood on the TP.  Never had this with my first 2 pregnancies.  So it's got me a bit worried.   I am pretty sure I am past the implantation period...but don't know what else it could be.

any insight for me?

  This just happened to me about two weeks ago- I was around nine weeks. I still went down and had an ultrasound, just to be safe. My twins were fine- My OB said it was likely that my cervix was irritated. My husband had been out of town, so we hadn't had sex at all, which can be a cause. She said I would probably spot for up to two weeks, which I did. She said to return if the blood changed color or if the amount became significantly increased. Not sure still what caused it. But old brown blood is a better sign than bright red! Good luck.

I wasn't worried at first, but now that it's still on going...I am getting worried.  I am wondering if I should call the OB office or just wait to talk to them when I go in for my first appt.  That's not until the 9th though.

I was always told that brown blood is better than red blood.  For your peace of mind, I would call the doctor.  They may tell you that everything is okay and notify them if it changes color or they may tell you to come in.  Either way, it will more than likely make you feel better.  There is just something about hearing it from your doctor that makes it better.  Good luck.  I hope everything is okay with you.

Yes, I did have with my daughter some bright red blood after intercourse and I freaked out.  Called and they got me in.  But it turned out that I had fibroids and everything was fine with my daughter.  But this time around there's been no sex and thank goodness it's not bright red.  It's still worrisome though.

If I were you, I would call the doctor.  I'm sure everything is fine but for your own peace of mind, you should call.

The same thing happened to me around the same time (7-8) wks.   Stay off your feet and try to relax.....very important!   Go to the E.R. if the color changes to brighter red.
