I am just curious if this has happened to anyone else...

I am almost 8 months out of surgery and 4 months pregnant with twins... when I found out I was pregnant I was 412 and that was mid September... Now today I was 358 I have lost 54 lbs in a very short time. I know the babies are growing and healthy and I am eating etc. etc.  Has anyone else this early out of surgery still quite large still lost a lot of weight like this... I know I am gonna gain eventually... but I am worried and so is my NUT how can I slow this weight loss down... I just lost 8 lbs in one week? I ate like a pig on turkey day.. I have been walking like crazy all weekend shopping so maybe it was the extra exercise? I get in a lot of calories. I am just scared something is gonna go wrong. Now I have to go see my NUT again next month because she is concerned. I just need to know if this is normal or something...  any words would be nice thanks everyone... :)

You may want to search older posts cause I've seen this issue brought up may times before.....From what I can remember a lot of people said to increase your carbs to slow down the weight loss.  I had already hit goal when I got pregnant, so I'm sorry I don't have any personal experience with this.

I would talk you your nut and OB but I lost weight during pregnancy. I have only gained 10 lbs since being pregnant and am almost 9 months pregnant now. I have just recently put the weight on. If the babies look fine and so are your levels than you are fine. There are alot of women on here that have lost over 50-100 lbs during there pregnancy. You are early out and you are going to lose weight. Jus****ch those carbs and calories. Congrats with twins! That's double the excitement!! There are other people on here in your situation just look for old posts.
Good Luck
Jessica

My OB told me that as long as my ketones were low/non-existent , and I was eating 1800-2000 calories a day that I could loose weight the entire pregnancy and she wouldn't care because I "have it to loose". You are so early out from surgery I don't expect that you'll gain much if anything. You might stop loosing and stall but I doubt you'll gain much. Many ladies have told me though to watch out of getting into bad pre-op habits just because you are pregnant. Eat according to your surgeon's plan just add in the healthy whole grain carbs. As long as the babies are growing you are in good shape!

I got pregnant at 2 1/2 months post op and lost 80 lbs from the date of conception on 4/2/09 to Halloween. Since then I have gained about 6 lbs but thats about it. My baby is very healthy and the perfect size right now. I think you and your babies will be just fine as long as you stay out of Ketosis! You're doing great! Good luck!
