When do you decorate your tree?

My husband wants to wait to put up decorations.  I told him I want the tree up so I can take pictures for our Christmas card by it....

Plus it's supposed to be a (kinda) nice weekend and it would be a good time to decorate outside if we're going to this year.

Do you guys decorate right after Thanksgiving or do you wait until December ?

(They started playing Christmas music 24/7  two weeks ago on the radio !!  Now that is too early!)

Just Curious...

(Cooper can't believe it's almost December already!)

We decorated the mantle, living room and kitchen this past sunday. We will be cutting down our tree tomorrow and decorating it tomorrow evening.

I have always decorated Thanksgiving evening. But decided to get the stuff out this past sunday since I had the time to get started.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

I was tempted to decorate before Thanksgiving - because otherwise no one really comes to visit (maybe this year will be different with Cooper), but I resisted temptation.

We did a lot of "fall" decorations - scarecrows, leaves, etc.

You're lucky you get to cut your own tree !!  My husband is too cheap !

You'll have to take pics and post them!

Living in Wisconsin, we put our lights out early (wanted to do it before Thanksgiving but couldn't work it out with DH schedule) So I plan on it this weekend!  I will probably do the tree and all also!  Why put all that work into it just to have it up for only a few weeks...that's why I do it early-plus I like lights!!

(Cute Cooper picture...where did you get the ornament picture?)

So you put the lights up early (I understand that) but do you turn them on right away?

I took the picture of Cooper earlier today (just bought the hat!) and I used PhotoShop to make the Ornament "effect".   I'm not a super-user of PhotoShop but there are a couple thing I like to do with it.

I will have to try that ornament thing!  Such a cute idea/picture!
I turn them on the day after thanksgiving usually! It's a lot of work so I like to enjoy it while I can!  I just like the look of lights!  It's cheerful!

If you have PhotoShop or Photo Element  here is a guide to make the ornaments:

love the ornament pic of your baby- so cute!

I usually wait till the beginning of December because by the time Christmas is here, I am so sick of looking at the tree and all the decorations for all those weeks and can't wait to take them down!  LOL   It just feels cluttered to me for some reason after a while with all the decorations up.  Plus, you can take pics by the tree, go to Costco or wherever to get cards made, and have em done in just like a day or two- so it's all good and you'll have time to get that done!

Hit goal weight of 140 at 13 months out from RNY!! 130 pounds GONE!

Thanks!

I know the stores can make the cards quickly.... I'm just anxious I won't get a good picture for the card and will be more at peace when I have one.  (My goal is to get Cooper AND the dog together looking at me and "smiling".  Not always easy these days as Cooper is easily distracted!)

I agree with the "cluttered" feeling.... I get like that too sometimes (my husband goes overboard) but then when it's gone the house feels....naked.

Growing up we always decorated the day after Thanksgiving. My husband is kinda bahumbug about it. This year I cannot drag the stuff up myself, so I told the kids if they get their rooms clean when Daddy has his day off on Tuesday we will decorate. I wish we could have done it today.
