nursing and ovulating??
About three weeks ago I had all the signs of ovulation, but I didn't believe it because I am nursing full time and thought that mother nature would be kinder to me then giving me only two months with no period LOL But all the signs where right, and I got my period a week ago (which is SO not fair LOL). So Matty is just 11 weeks, and my cycles are back. (BOOOO)
when i was nursing my daughter (2nd child), I had the IUD in and didn't even get a period. I got some light spotting when I weaned her at a year and then got a light period 4 months after I had my RNY (cuz I had lost so much weight I was told). You can totally get pg while nursing if you don't use protection and I personally believe the mini pill is a joke for a birth control option. I totally advocate the Mirena IUD because it's more effective than the pill, safe to use while nursing, and gives you very light or no periods while on it (for most women).
Each of my kids were different. I did not have one with my first until I stopped nursing. With second it came back around 9 months and with my youngest it came back right away. I know the thought is that you should not while your nursing but it happens. My girlfriend became pregnant with twins while nursing her 3 month old son.
