My "Big" Ultrasound

Well, I posted here the other day what everyone thought I would be having. I went for my U/S on Wednesday. I think I got the worst tech in the country. Has anyone ever had an ultrasound last less than 10 minutes? This is including walking to the room getting ready and walking all the way back to you vehicle. I was sooo disappointed. And by the way she said the baby was not old enough to see what it was! Every time I tried to point something out to my husband she hurried to move the wand thingy. I ma calling my medical group today to see what my recourse is I don't know what else to do.

OMG that's ridiculous... I would get her fired....lol I would have caused a riot in that place.... I hope you get some answers soon... :)

Thats bull that you cant tell what the sex is at this stage! Either she did not want to be there and boldly lied to you or she just plain sucks at it!!!! I say both!!!

that u/s tech should be fired!!  I found out the sex of my baby at 17 weeks and it was reconfirmed at my 20 wk u/s just a few days ago that we were having a boy.  If you are 21 wks now, you are totally far along enough to find out the sex!  I would call and complain to the place you went to about that tech and DEMAND to have another person do ANOTHER ultrasound to find out the sex.   Rediculous!!!  I would be totally pissed off if I were you!

I called the ultrasound department today but all of the supervisors are on vacation so I have to wait until monday. I wak up every night dreaming that something is wrong with my baby and that is why they won't tell me. I don't think they realize how tey make people feel. I felt like she was taking measurements of a tumor or something rather than a baby.

That's horrible! I would be pissed off. I hope she gets fired!

I am with EO else here girl! They should have been able to tell you! Maybe it is triplets and she was scared to tell you(just kidding) Seriously, stupid girl, probably thinking about pumpkin pie or something! I definitly would complain and demand to have it redone! Perhaps she was having a bad day and got in trouble recently for having predicted the wrong gender or diagnosed something incorrectly and she was taking it out on you.

I would have argued with her and demanded she show me my baby's gender and if she refused I would have asked for a more competent tech. I wouldn't have left without gender results.

THAT SUCKS! At 21 weeks you can tell what the baby is - as a matter of fact my Drs office offers a $125 ultrasound at 16 weeks for gender determination..... other wise I could wait for the one at 20 weeks that is covered. If your Doc is unwilling to send you for another you may be able to find a place that does 2d/3d/4d ultrasounds and pay out of pocket for a 2d.

I'd be pissed!!  Good luck tomorrow when you call.  There's no reason for them to treat anybody that way.  Sounds like she was in a hurry and just didn't care.  That's not how patient care should be delivered.  If there was something wrong, you would have been told, so please do not worry my friend.  I do not believe they would have let you go if something was wrong. 

Hang in there my friend.  It will be o.k.
