A lil' update - PIC HEAVY!
Your girls are absolutely beautiful!
Elijah's little bottom was SO red, the ped said is actually like a burn from so much pooping. You've probably already received these suggestions and/or tried them but just in case...
Rinse her off with warm water that has a touch of vinegar in it (we used the sitz bottle from the hospital). You can also rinse her off in the sink but that was a disaster for us. Gently pat or air dry (I fanned and blew on his bottom). I had a prescription for a medication that was for burns (can't remember the name) that I rubbed in and then applied a thick coating of Aquaphor. I kept him in Swaddler's because he didn't react to that brand as much.
Once it was cleared up for a while, I made my own wipes (he couldn't tolerate store bought baby wipes until he was about 6 months old) using baby oil, baby wash (I used Aveeno) and warm water.

Thank you...that's pretty much what we've been doing. But I may have to try the Aquaphor instead of the Bacitracin. I noticed her bum got worse after we got home and started using the Costco wipes. Now I'm using a cotton gauzy cloth. Chloe can handle the swaddler sensitive wipes but I think it will be a while before Miss Clara can.
Thanks again!
Sandy
Thanks again!

Awe! They are adorable!!! Man you grow em big girl! Thank goodness they came would they did other wise you would have had like 12 lbers! LOL!
Sucks about the breastfeeding :( to be honest with you this next one is going to get boob and formula in the hospital and over the next couple of weeks then down to formula only - if it works out that way!
They are so beautiful, I just can't get over it! Bella had BAD diaper rash like that too when she was new.... our pediatrician gave us a medicated powder and I used an aquaphor diaper cream (you can find it in the baby section of Target or in the pharmacy) I think they use it for burns which is basically what diaper rash is - a chemical burn, or at least that is what I was told. It works miracles!!!
Congrats Momma - I am going to have to remember the cinnamon candy! LOL!

Yes Ma'am!! I do grow 'em big! I have no idea how. LOL. Ok, I'm going to have to switch to Aquaphor. Everyone is recommending it. I think I have a tiny tube of it tucked away somewhere.
And yes, the cinnamon candy I think was the trick! Not that I was trying to do that...but it was on an empty stomach and boy did it give me horrible gas! HA!

They make my heart melt... they ARE SO BEAUTIFULl!!!
Josiah has had one bad diaper rash after another. My doctor suggested a 'goop' which is equal parts of zinc oxide, Hydrocortisone and Nystatin (that is a prescription) It worked like a charm ever time.
Congrats on the weight loss!!! Give yourself a little time to adjust to your 'new' body. Stretchy pants were my friend for the longest time. :-)
Hugs!
