URRRRRR!!! YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!
does he get leave?
david was gone from May to August to train for deployment (he was half way across the country), home for 4 days, then gone to iraq til January, home for 15 days (that they subtracted from the 30 days you get when you come home), then gone til june.
it sucked. it was his 2nd deployment but my first with him. it was hard with 2 little ones.

did he put in for the additional 10 days of paternity leave? he gets it. his command will have to approve it but it has to be used within 45 days of the birth. david is taking his and stacking 17 days of his own on it and taking off nearly a month when Luken comes. its in and approved.

Im glad to hear he will be there for her birth. Im so sorry your hubby is being shipped out. I thought the war was ending, yet, more and more people are getting shipped out. I just found out two close family memebers are being shipped to Afganistan, on in May and one in June. One of which served 2 years and Iraq and has only been hom 10 months. This is crazy. I wish your hubby a safe return, and lots of first's with your daughter!

I'm very sorry. I can't imagine how hard that would be emotionally. It's good he'll be around for the birth. Make sure you have a video camera to capture moments for him. I'm sure it's hard on him too, sometimes guys don't like to admit that kind of stuff, at least my husband doesn't. I hope he gets to come back soon.
I am so sorry, it sucks. Kris left when I was 12 weeks pregnant with Noah, came home for R & R when he was a month old and then back at the end of his 15 month tour when he was 8 months. We pcs'd to Benning just to find out his unit was deploying, he's on Rear D right now b/c he wouldn't wave his dwell time(just got back 1/09) Hopefully they will let him stay til Gabe is born, so far so good. But as soon as he gets back off of his paternity leave then all bets are off. I hope your hubby gets a good assignment and it goes by quickly for you and Isabella.
