Good News....?
I guess I am confused. If you aren't sure yet, but will be testing in a couple of days....that lends me to believe you know where you are at in your cycle and this may not be "unexpected" at all. Unexpected babies are usually found out after people miss their periods.
Though people do get pregnant this fast out from surgery, it is not at all advised. I will let others chime in on that that may have been through it.

Well go ahead and test in a few days and if you are pregnant CONGRATS! Talk to your surgeon and OB about what to do...I am not sure as I had RNY not the VSG. I do know you need to make sure you are taking a vitamin with folic acid and you need to make sure you are eating enough carbs. Ad once again I am wishing you a happy and healthy 9 months if you are.
But besides that I have to agree with Ann. I haven't been on this board long but I have been here long enough to know that "unexpected" pregnancies are not known until after a missed pregnancy. I did not know until my period had been almost 2 and a half weeks late and I am always regular...I never thought anything of it because surgery can wack out your cycle. If you know your cycle THAT well, you should have made sure that you were using protection around ovulation...and since you weren't sure when you ovulate...always. It just sounds funny and I honestly hope if you are pregnant it was unexpected because getting pregnant this soon does bring along the possibility of greater complication that could have been avoided if you waited. But again...I am hoping that isn't the case and what I said was unwarranted.
Again, good luck! And if your pregnant congrats. If your not, please take better care at preventing it. And I am not trying to bash you, just reminding you of what is best so you do not have to do the constant extra worrying those of us who ended up pregnant too soon have to go through.

Unprotected sex does not equal "unexpected" baby. Sorry, I'm just saying.
It's your prerogative to try and get pregnant this early out of surgery, but it's ill advised for good reason. And if you tell me you are not trying, well then you would by lying because you just said you are not on BC. Hopefully your husband is at least wearing condoms.

If you are not pg then there are other forms of bc that should be used after surgery besides the pill. Yes, some have become pg this soon after surgery and have healty babies. It takes diligence in diet and supplements. The sad thing is that baby usually gets what he/she needs, but you may suffer. I am 4+ years out and struggled with low vitamin d, low vitamin b, and low iron during both of my post op babies.
I know what it is like to really want a baby...having suffered several years of infertility and treatments. It was the hardest thing I had to do to wait to try again after surgery. If you are pg this site is great for support along the way. If not...then we will be here when the time comes to really start trying. I post on fridays for those ttc (trying to conceive) so feel free to join in for support. Shari
