HELLLLLLLLOOO!!!!
I do have ALOT of ?'s about pregnancy post RNY. Im going to try not to throw them atcha all at once though. Lol.
My biggest concern is Vitamins. I have not seen my OB yet. His office called, confirmed the pregnancy, scheduled my first ob visit with sono in January, and called in a script for prenatal vitamins. And said that I only need to take that one pill for my pregnancy.
This is what is in this script:
Vit A- 4,000 IU
Vit c- 120 mg
vit d3- 400IU
vit E- 22mg
vit b1- 1.84 mg
b2- 3mg
niacin- 20mg
b6-10mg
folic acid- 1mg
b12-12micrograms
calcium-200mg
iron-27mg
zinc- 25mg
copper- 2mg
Being an RNY-er, and given the malabsorption issues... Im concerned! Do I double up or what? Ive put a call into my nutritionist, but shes out untill after Thanksgiving, so I was hoping those of you who have been in my shoes can help!
Thanks guys! And thanks for welcoming me to this board!

Super proud mommy to Dylan, Owen and Sophia Brianne!
My OB told me to take the prenatal, continuie my b12, iorn, and one calcuim (i take 3 per day) as extra. Good questions though cause doc told me that too much vitamin a is VERY bad for baby and can cause birth defects.... he is going to send me to the vampires again in 1 month to check my vitamin levels and see if this is a good combo for me.... i have RNY but at 75 instead of 150 because i was only just over the BMI to qualify for surgery so i dont have as much malabsorption issues as others with RNY might. I think my docs idea is good though since everyone is different. If they say to go with the one pill a day then go for it but ask them to run your blood at your next visit to check your vitamin levels. Then you'll know if you need to add in some more supplements.....
best wishes!!!!
