So, we have been trying for 4 months and I asked the doctor if we could get a semen analysis to rule out any problems so we didn't find out  after one year that there was a problem and all that time wasted.  Well,  yes DH has a  very low sperm count and low motility rate.  Has anyone else's DH have this problem and was successful in acheiving pregnancy w/o IVF?  Please help!!!!!!!!

We had those issues and more... and our baby, conceived without IVF, turned 8 weeks today. So it's possible! Was your DH diagnosed with anything else, i.e. low testosterone, pituitary gland issues, etc?

My hubby has low sperm count and motility problems and I have pcos with insulin resistance meaning I don't ovulate on time. We have 2 beautiful babies now. The first was conceived on a cycle break from IUI's and clomid, although I was on metformin to regulate my cycles. I was on jury duty and it just happened. The second we never expected to conceive. The fertility road was hard on us so we were just using metformin to regulate my cycles and tracking them on fertility friend. I was sick that month and we baby danced 4 days prior to o and still got pg. Hubbies counts were 2-3 million post wa**** is possible. Maybe if your insurance will cover IUI's that might be a good road for you that isn't ivf. They take hubbies sperm, wash them, and put them where they should be with a little catheter. They monitor your cycle so they know the opportune time to do the procedure. It is pretty painless...but does take time to monitor and stuff. Good luck! I post a friday ttc post for those of you girls trying...so feel free to join in okay. Shari

Yup - exact same boat! My DH had like 2-3 million after being washed and very poor motility and morphology - they told us IVF was our only hope..... However.....

I have a 2 year old who was conceived after the 2nd IUI

When she was 5 months old I was pregnant (on our own!) sadly miscarried in April 08

In July of 08 my cycle was normal again and in October 08 I preggo (on our own) again after 3 failed IUIs!!!

I just found out I am preggo again - after my 3rd normal cycle since my 2nd was born, and only the 2nd cycle of trying - I thought it was going to take like a year!!!! I am religious about figuring out when I ovulate - have you been tracking? We had sex every other day - that helps too!

It is possible!!!! It only takes one......

Good luck! If you need to talk feel free to PM me!

My first hubby had this issue.  We used artificial insemination to conceive on the first try.  They take the man's sperm and use a spinner to pull out the living working sperm and then they inserted it directly into my uterus.  It worked on the first try altho we lost the baby at three months.  After that we conceived two children on our own without any help whatsoever, although the doctor had given us less than one in a million chance to conceive on our own.  Our two children were 13 1/2 months apart.

Look into it, it was $185 per insemination which was not covered by insurance but pretty darn cheap to do compared to IVF and other fertility treatments.  It is definitely not impossible to conceive with low sperm count and motility so don't give up hope.

my bf had testicular cancer and the end result obviously was removal of said testical.  he had the same issues with a count of 9 mil.

i did a lot of praying, i know that may sound a little off to some, but....shortly after that i found out i was pregnant.  i guess god just felt it was my time.

i know this doesnt help but just have faith....it will happen when you least expect it.

chad and i were actually supposed to start injections on the next period i was to have....but i never started. :)
