Cooper can get out of his Bumbo chair!

Now What??? He's too big for his "bouncey seat" (his legs hang off it) and he arches his back and pops himself out of the Bumbo chair now.

He sits pretty well by himself but he will laugh so hard (at the dog) that he throws himself backwards -- and our floors are either wood or stone on the whole main level.

I have a play mat in the living room that cushions him if he throws himself backwards....but I like him to be with me in the kitchen when I'm cooking, etc. (And moving the mat from room to room is an option, but not a good one.)

Any suggestions on what to do with a 5 month old who won't stay put in his chair ???

Soon enough you'll be able to say "with my child...." !!

We do have a highchair -- it's up on the attic. We haven't used it on him yet -- but maybe it's time to get it out!

Do you have a place to hang a jumparoo? Or put in an exersaucer? My kids loved those before they got mobile on me.

I will a lot of times just lay my "lil man" on a blanket on the floor next to where I am "working" that way I can get things done. Last night he laid in the hall while I tore up the bathroom floor. He thought it was very interesting!

Other ideas: exersaucer, jumperoos (my 4 month old will jump in his for 1 - 1 1/2 hours at a time!), bouncer, sit on the floor with a pile of toys in front of him....

BTW...he is definately too cute!!!

Cooper used to be content laying on his play mat or in his chair -- but he doesn't want to lay any more!

That's a cute picture in my mind of your lil man watching you tear up the bathroom floor !! I think Cooper would enjoy watching that too!!

I think Cooper might ask Grandma-Santa for a walker for Christmas.

I know he'd love it! I just don't want it to be an excuse not to crawl....
