Expecting a July baby!!

Hi everyone!  My name is Ellen and I am a little bit over 7 weeks pregnant with my second child but my first post WLS baby.  I had an ectopic pg in August so I am super nervous that this one won't stick although so far things have been good.  I had an ultrasound a few days ago and saw a tiny baby with a heartbeat and heard the heartbeat too.

Overall I feel pretty crummy.  I felt yucky my whole first pg so I hope that it does not last much longer with this one, although it is all worth it!  My biggest concern though is gaining weight.  I want to eat all the time.  I am so worried that I might have another miscarriage that I am feeding my nerves.  So far I have been lucky enough to not gain any weight despite my ravenous appetite but I don't think that will last.  I have decided to get my husband involved in helping me make the best choices so that I will hopefully only gain 10-15 or even not gain at all.

Unlike so many of you I am still on the plus side.  I started out at 365 and have been fortunate enough to lose 120 in a year and I now weigh 245 at 5'7".  When I was pg with DS I weighed 325 and never looked pg.  I have my fingers crossed that I won't just look fat this time around.

I am more of a lurker than a poster but I really wanted to share my BIG news and hopefully get some prayers that this baby will stick.

Congratulations to those of you who are pregnant and good luck to those who are trying!!

Welcome and congrats!

This is my 8th baby but first post WLS baby too. I am due July 21st and am a little over 5 weeks now.

I'm scared of gaining weight but already have a little bit. But I don't think a pound really counts in pregnancy. ;) Most of it is boobs and fluid retention, right?! So I've been maintaining too. I'm also hungry all the time but I am too scared to eat too much. I was so close to getting under 200 that I am slightly disappointed I didn't get there before getting pregnant.

This was unintentional. We had wanted to wait a little longer before getting pregnant but my doctor is fine with it and the weight loss I've had so far.

No m/s yet either. I don't think it will come on until next week or by 8 weeks. We don't plan on telling family until after the New Year because I want to be out of the miscarriage trimester first. I lost my last baby to a m/c in Aug '08 so I am afraid that will happen with this one too.

Sorry for my ramblings. Again congratulations and welcome! :D

Congratulations on your pregnancy, Ellen!  You are going to have a much easier time @ your current weight....I guarantee it!  I was very obese when I had my 1st and had lost a great deal of weight when I had my 2nd.  It was like night and day as far as the health issues between the 2 pregnancies.  You've done a great job with your weight loss.  I know it's scary and feels nearly impossible to do, but try to allow yourself the joy that pregnancy brings and less of the fear about weight gain.  Logging what you eat really helps.  Even if you decide to indulge a craving now and then, logging equates to accountability and that's key for me.

Praying that this one sticks and that you get the reassurances you need along the way.

Hugs,

Jo
