OT: A very happy post for once.

So I was informed that CT Care 4 Kids program (a program that helps working families pay daycare costs based on household income) has expanded their income guidelines and now we qualify. I know I am a bit premature in my excitement but this is great news! I pay $300 a week for the girls. Gosh if they could even take $100 off of that a week I would be soooo elated! Even anything off I would be grateful. So I jsut had to post my happy day!

For those of you *****ad my vitamin post, I found out from my PCM they didn't even draw vitamin levels because "most insurance companies don't pay for that". Um I could care less, I could have a serious vitamin deficiency here and your worried about getting paid. WOW! I am RNY patient I need this work up, bunch of ________. (insert not nice word)

wow congrats on that daycare program! Anything that they give you will be a huge help I'm sure! I am surprised that the military doesn't help out somehow - or do they only do that if you live on a base?

You are a RNY patient - they'll cover it! They cover mine and I get it drawn at least 2-3 times a year!

If your PCP codes it as malnutrition, they will cover the bloodwork.  At least that is what my surgeon always told me and I have yet to see them not cover it.

I wasn't married when I had my RNY, so I was covered under different insurance.  After I got married and assigned a PCM, all I had to do was tell her that I had GBS and that I needed to have my vitamin levels checked at least once per year.  I found out from my surgeon's office which levels they usually check for, and I gave that info to my PCM's nurse.  She then ordered the labs, and I had them drawn at the Base.  It was no problem.  I don't know if the Navy differs from the Air Force, but it worked for me.  When I saw my PCM recently, I asked her if she would continue ordering the labs, as they are coming due in December, and she said no problem.

Thank you for your response. I am just so aggrivated, why is it such a PIA to get some blood work?!? Sheesh!
