has this happened to anyone?

I noticed before I was pregnant I was starting to lose my hair more and more as time went by... I was getting my protein in but I know that you get the hair loss from the anesthesia... But sense I have been taking my prenatals it stopped which I was hoping to happen... I loved the prenatals when I had my daughter cuz my hair grew so fast and my nails were beautiful... I was wondering if this would happen and it did...yay I was getting sad I was losing my hair and there was nothing I could do for it. Anyone else have this problem and then it got better during pregnancy?

Yes, hair loss is a pretty common side effect after WLS. And, as you noticed, pregnancy usually makes hair stop falling out. (I too had great hair during pregnancy... great for me at least...lol!) Unfortunately for you (and me too!) though, once you're done pregnant, the hair growth cycle will begin again, starting with another huge loss. Keep taking your vitamins and protien, but there's not much you can do to make the cycle stop as far as I know. It will balance out eventually, but you're probably looking at another period of loss after you have the baby. Sorry. -Donna

yup i had great hair when i was preggo with jayson... and great hair now!... to bad it will all fall out again :'(

Yes, exactly as Donna described. And sadly, following the birth of my baby and another surgery, my hair is falling out again
