so i went in for my appt today but my ob/gyn was not there he had to go deliver a baby so i saw his pa

they took my bp and it was 140/90 hmmmmmmmm (3rd week in a row my bp was high)
i left a urine sample and it was the color of iced tea! hmmmmmm
they told me i gained 9lb in 2 weeks!! hmmmmmmmmm

those are all weird for me, so i said no somethings wrong!!!!

she checked me i am still dilated to 2cm, so she called my ob/gyn and explained to him these issues, and i have to do a 24 urine collection, they took blood from me today and when i return the specimen they will take more blood-he thinks i may have
pre eclampsia.....

so now overall i have gained a total of 36lbs with this pregnancy, im not worried the weight will melt off im sure after their birth, but im worried about the possible
pre eclampsia, im sure if i have it and symptoms do seem like it we may deliver earlier than my scheduled dec 4 date

plus my hubby lost his job last sunday-got a new job on wed and now got laid off from new job today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

when it rains it pours!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i didnt get a u/s or a fetal weight check today, but 3 weeks ago baby a weighed 4lb 8oz and baby b weighed 3lb 15oz, so hopefully when there born they will be at the least 5lbs each

thanks for listening to me ramble

anyone have pre eclampsia stories to share with me at the end of their pregnancy?

Towards the end of my pregnancy with my daughter I was getting high blood pressure. My urine kept showing traces of protein and I remember one month gaining like 8 lbs. At my 36 week check up my blood pressure was 165/110 so he put me on bed rest until I was 37 weeks and then was induced. My daughter had no issues, just a little jaundice but I think that's normal anyway. She was 7lbs 13 oz when she was born. Did they put you on bed rest? Maybe they want to wait until the 24 hour urine collection (those suck to do by the way). You're so close that I think everything will be fine, if the see it's the starts of pre-eclampsia they will induce you. I think going to 37 weeks with twins is really pretty good too. It should be just fine, you're almost considered full term and I'm sure a little bed rest until then would help. It probably doesn't help the blood pressure either with the issues it sounds like you've been dealing with. I hope all goes well. Keep us informed!

I had pre-eclampsia with my daughter, 12 years ago.  I gained 17 pounds in two weeks, swelled up like a water balloon and had blood pressure that was high for me, although under the cutoff of 140/90.  Insurance required that I be observed for 24 hours in the hospital, my blood pressure continued to rise, they did the 24 hour urine collection to check for protein and began induction after th 24 hours.  My daughter was born at 37 weeks which is considered full term.  It sounds like you will most likely be having your baby earlier than you expected but the baby should be fine.  I have had a baby at 36 weeks and two at 37 weeks with out any issues.  They went home with me.  Even the other baby was 35 weeks and he had no issues either.  At 36/37 weeks there really shouldn't be any issues.
