I have a bladder infection with no symptoms??
So, my doctor just called and asked me if anyone has called me about my bladder infection yet. I said "huh?".
Apparently my urine sample at my appointment last Tuesday showed that I have a bladder infection. I had no idea. I've had absolutely no symptoms. I remember having one as a child and it was extremely painful so I'm perplexed as to how I could have this and not know it. I do drink a ton of water so maybe that helps mask symptoms?
Anyway, she's calling a course of antibiotics for me. I hope that doesn't lead to a yeast infection which is what happened last time I took antibiotics.
Has anyone else ever had this happen? Should I be worried that a bladder infection could be dangerous for my baby?

I also have had a bladder infection with no symptoms...this was before any of my pregnancies though.
I actually just read about a study within the last week, that some antibiotics commonly prescribed for bladder infections may be causing birth defects in fetuses. Here's the link : http://www.medpagetoday.com/OBGYN/Pregnancy/16751 I don't necessarily follow these views, but thought you might like to read for your own info.
