Celebrating for SIL is kind of hard

My sister in law had her baby on Wed and we're heading down to see him tomorrow.  I'm so happy for them, but it's touched with sadness as well for us.  We're already back to TTC after my miscarriage, so we're on the roller coaster again, but part of my heart cries just a little when I look at the baby pictures. 

I'm trying to get it out now at home so I can really enjoy tomorrow and be happy with them.  I honestly didn't realize it would be so bittersweet for me.  Hopefully I can keep it tucked away at least until we're not around them, as I don't want to take away any of their excitement and the excitement of the first grand kid.

Congratulations on becoming an auntie!  I'm glad he arrived safe and sound.

I understand why you are also feeling a little sadness at the same time as the joy of becoming an aunt.  It's a bittersweet feeling celebrating the birth of someone else's baby - no matter how happy you are for that person - while at the same time, still mourning the loss of your own.  I hope your brother and SIL understand that this will be hard for you and let you take things at your own pace....holding him if you can, and not being insulted or hurt if you can't do it right now....and if you need to take a little time by yourself, do so.

I had a really hard time after my miscarriage. My bestfriend and I were preggo at the same time, she started seeing my Doc and it was heartbreaking to watch her go through it all and feel cheated. I never let her see it, but I know she knew I was hurting. It took awhile but after time it got easier and easier.
