Baby dropped at 31 weeks?
I've started dilating and effcing as early as 30 weeks so , no, it's not too early.
Dropping, dilating, effacing, no matter how early they start none of it means anything without contractions or your bag of waters breaking. Baby could still change positions on ya over the next 10 weeks. ;)

Mom to 8 ~ Adelyn Grace arrived July 8, 2010!
I'm guessing this is your first? Yeah, they usually drop a few weeks before birth, but don't fret! It's a preliminary sign of labor, NOT definite! baby can stay put right there, using your cervix as its personal trampoline for a few weeks & be just fine! Start worrying when your water breaks, then you're in labor! (Ok, yes, I know there are other signs of true labor.) Try to relax and enjoy these last few weeks, even though they may seem like 9 years instead of 9 weeks!
