I have the exact doppler that is pictured in your post.  It works really well and I was able to hear a HB at nine weeks.  I am a nurse and familiar with using a dopler and I think that this helped.  Be patient when you search for a HB.  Start very low, press firmly and move the doppler in different positions like a joystick.  Good luck!

I LOVE my doppler and it's been a godsend, especially my last pregnancy where I was so nervous about something being wrong after the death of our first son. I got mine from EBay but it was a more expensive one, somewhere around $180 or so, I can't quite remember. I wouldn't trade it for the world! I was able to pick up Mack's heartbeat at 11 weeks, and I tried for the first time with this pregnancy at 12 weeks and found it right away. It's so comforting to check it yourself and know that everything's ok in-between those long waits for the OB appointments. Worth every penny!!!

just got the confirmation e-mail - I'll have mine tomorrow!!

I am so excited - we are having this big "girls only" family weekend 3 generations and I'd LOVE for them all to hear the heartbeat with me!
