Hi New to this Forum
Hi my name is Jaime and I am about 3 years out. I just found out i was pregannt yesterday! I am excited but VERY scared at the same time I am going to gain a lot of weight. I have already gained about 15 pounds from my lowest weight since surgery and now i just found out i was pregnant so i am a little concerned i am just going to blow up again. Any suggestions or words of advice? I am going to try and get my walking in everyday. (I am a walker and walk about 2 to 4 miles everyday.)
I am wondering how much i should brace myself to gain. It seems like i worked so hard to loose this weight and to keep the majority of it off and now boom!
I am very happy just nervous. I gained about 50 pounds with my first born before surgery 11 years ago.
Thank you for letting me vent and have a wonderful day.
Oh, i think i am about 9 weeks along based on my calculations.

Hi Jaime! I have been reading your blog for so long! Congratulations on your wedding and now your pregnancy! How wonderful! I know from reading your blog how worried you are about weight gain. Try not to let it bring you down during this pregnancy. Just eat as best as you can and try to stay active and you should do just fine. I have also seen a lot of women on here drop most if not all of their baby weight right after they have the baby. Good luck and I am sooo happy for you! This is a great board and welcome!!

Ok just wanted to chime in and first off congratulations!!
I had RNY in Sept 04 and lost 225 pounds. I stayed there for years until I became pregnant in July 07, after I had DD in April 08 I had gained 70 pounds. From April to November I lost 65 pounds and then got pregnant again in Nov 08. I had DD#2 on August 12,09 and again gained 70 pounds. I just want to say don't go crazy with eating because I can tell its hell getting motivated to get it back off. With both I lost 30 pounds right away and then worked my ass off to lose the rest. This time my baby will be 3 months old tommorow and I have lost 35 so far. People say anything more than 30 is yours to keep and if your not motivated to lose it they are unfortunately RIGHT. But just eat healthy and you should be fine!
Good Luck!

COngrats!! I am almost 3 years out as well and pregnant with #1. I am 12w5d and so far I've lost 15 pounds... Dr told me that she more expects my body shape to change then me to gain weight. She also told me to keep eating healthy and balanced and all should be fine.
Here's to a happy and healthy 9 months!

Congrats on your pregnancy!
As for weight gain, don't stress about it too much. If you watch what you eat and get in some sort of exercise, you'll be fine.
I was not a very good post-bariatric patient when I was pregnant with my first and I did gain 45lbs. I did lose all but 15lbs. I had just started losing that 15 when I found out I was pregnant again. I have not stepped on the scale since my last OB appt. on October 20th lol
Have a happy and healthy pregnancy!
