Cannot eat animal protein to save my life...

Okay...I thought it passed after the first 8wks...but it came back with a vengenance...but only regarding animal protein.  The idea of choking down meat makes me so sick...and I never threw up the first 8wks...but I literally feel I could ever time I choke it down.  It sounds good...I make it, or buy it, and then cannot eat it to save my life.

My hubbie got me chicken today...I still haven't eaten but half a chicken finger.  At 8:40pm tonight, I thought a pepperoni pizza from Pizza Hut sounded awesome...I haven't had it in years.  It got here, I smelled it, and wanted to hurl.  I forced myself to eat half a piece and wanted to hurl.

What to do?? Can I go vegetarian and be safe while pregnant?  Will I get enough protein?  I can drink milk and eat cheese...and sometimes...rarely do eggs.

I have been trying to supplement with protein shakes....but I feel like I am depriving the baby.
What to do?

I still can't eat any type of meat post surgery, so I can't use it as my main protein source anyway. I know what you mean about the throwing up! I use milk and cheeses mainly. And the occasional ice cream!! As long as your levels are staying up, I['m sure it will be fine. You could always see a nutritionist with questions.

I can not do most meat either and even saying the name of some types makes me feel sick. I do beans, nuts, milk  and cheese. I can on occasion choke others down as long as I do not think about it.

Plenty of vegetarians have healthy babies! Look for other sources of protein to make up the difference and things will be fine!

Sleeved 07/11/2013  228/165 (surgery/current) (111lbs lost)

what about greek yogurt (about 17g protein in 7 oz), tofu and beans? Those are great sources of protein as are cheese, milk, nuts, eggs, cottage cheese, ricotta cheese etc.

Good luck! I am FINALLY just able to eat some meat now - I'm 12w++
