need good hospital in Poconos

Despite my complications with pre-term labor, my doctor is allowing me to travel to the Poconos the week of Thanksgiving for a few days of R&R.  I'll be 31 weeks but have been having contractions since 22 weeks. We will be staying in the Lake Harmony area which is around exit 274 off of route 80.  Since there are a ton of ladies from Pa. I was hoping some of you could tell me a good hospital or two in the area in the even I need to visit labor and delivery while on vacation.  Thanks so much ladies.

I can't picture exit 274 but There is Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg, Geisinger in Wilkes Barre, Palmerton Hospital, can't think of any others right now

Thanks, Liz.  Hopefully I can still go on my trip.  Sunday was another day at the hospital and the doctor put me off work yesterday for the next four weeks.

From what Liz said, she is right about the one in Stroudsburg. The only other one I know about and can speak on behalf of (although for different department) is Geisinger. It will be about 40-45 minutes away and its exit 224 in Danville.

Thanks, Simone.  Sorry it took me a couple of days to get back to you.  I ended up back at L&D so I'm not sure the doctor will let me go now. :(

I am probably located closer to where you are going to be than most.  Your best options are Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg and Geisinger Wyoming Valley in Wilkes Barre. You are almost smack dab in the middle of both of them. So my suggestion to you , God forbid you need it, is Geisinger Wyoming Valley. They are my docs, both regular and high risk and I think the world of them. Not to mention that should something need to happen that Pocono Medical can't handle, that's where they will medevac you and the baby to anyway. 

 

Thank you so much. That's the type of info I was looking for.  I knew about Pocono Medical but wanted to make sure I knew the best place to go in case the baby decided to make an appearance. 

I might not be able to after all now.  I've had another trip to L&D and the doctor has put me off work for the next four weeks.
