Incompetent Cervix and terrified of losing another child
I am so sorry you are going throught this. I also have an incompentent cervix and had my son at 32.5 weeks. He spent some time in the NICU but is now a happy 3 yr old. I am currently 32 weeks pg with my 2nd and this time I have a cerclage, stitch to tie my cervix closed, and things have been much easier especially with the weight loss. My cervix is doing good this time, not great but it is holding in there. I would suggest talking to your ob before you get pg again and have a game plan. A preventative cerclage around 12-13 weeks has a 80% success rate against IC.
Good luck.
Good luck.

I have an incompetant cervix as well. My 1st child was born a day before 26 weeks. I had a cerclauge at the time but im thinking since I was 330 pounds that the weight had a LARGE reason in me having her pre term.
This time around mydoctor did the cerclauge again as soon as I hit the second trimester. She also started giving my progesterone shots starting at 20 weeks (I am now 23 weeks on wed) and I am on modified bed rest. I am able to be up for two hours a day out and about but when i am home i have to relax and stay off my feet.
I honestly think that if your doctor is completely aware of your situation, that you have a good chance to do well. Just be open and honest with them and take the plunge. There are so many things out there now to help prevent pre term.
I hope you get what you want. Also, if you have any questions at all just ask.
