I don't want to make anyone feel bad about their gains... but I did want to give a different perspective. My experience has been the opposite. I'm 16 weeks. My start weight was about 198-199. In the first month, I lost 4lbs and got down to 195. I bounced around 195-196 for a long time until this week..... I finally gained my first pound. I'm now 197 as of this morning. I'm not taking it well.
In all honesty (and I am really not trying to be mean or hurt anyones feelings)... most of the weight gain should happen in the last trimester, even for a woman who's expected to gain the usual 24-36lbs and who had a healthy start weight.
My thyroid started messing up with my first (edited, did say second) pregnancy and I ended up gaining a ton of weight. No one ever checked it. If you're eating well (which you are) then it doesn't make sense that you've gained so much already. Talk to your doc because there are things that can happen that make you gain more than usual. I just wish I knew that last time... before I gained 50something pounds with my first child.

thanks for your view. i do know that i have definetly gained in the breast majorly lol I planned on having my doc run a thyroid just incase.. but i have looked at pregnancy scenarios from the weight loss boards and non. and some women do gain as we have. that's just what i have found. everbody is different. although i totally get what you are saying because with all three of my pregnancies i didn't really gain untill the last trimester. i only gained 15 my whole pregnancy last time. but i was also 300lbs then.
